Plans, plans plans!

My Simplicity patterns arrived the other day, plus yesterday I bought a couple of remnants from work, so I'm all inspired and motivated to sew! One is a kind of tawny coloured poly/viscose; it may be poly but it feels so incredibly soft, and acts a lot like a nice wool. The other is 100% wool, chocolate brown and pink/purple herringbone type pattern. I'm thinking of using the wool and also my brown and pink tartan to make Simplicity 3673. I'm thinking the tartan would look great with the full skirt, and I'll use the wool for the shorter, slimmer version. I was thinking of using the poly/viscose for a shorter dress as well, but now I'm thinking I might use it to make either McCalls 5590 high waisted long pencil skirt, or the skirt from Simplicity 4044. However I don't know if there's quite enough for the Simplicity skirt so I might go with the pencil skirt.

My plan is to cut all the fabric out tomorrow. If I also have time for some sewing, that will be great, but I seriously doubt I will. If I can get them all cut out, then I can possibly do some sewing Sat/Sun evenings, plus I have all of Monday. It will be nice to have some new items of clothing to wear to work! Lately I've been dressing down a little, wearing jeans a button up shirt and cardi. I'd really prefer to get back to dressing up though!

I had a look in Valley Girl today as I seemed to remember they carried turtleneck knits. Unfortunately they're cap sleeved, and quite thin, so that plan was dumped quickly. But we have some nice jersey's at work, so I'm thinking I might just make up my own! I'm envisaging some 3/4 and long sleeved turtleneck shirt in different colours that I can wear under the Simplicity jumpers. So pretty!

I've been so pumped all day about the prospect of finally getting into some sewing, as I'm desperate for clothes and itching to sew! We'll see how I go tomorrow!
