I'm studious... I want to know
Do you, dear flist, use your icons for anything more than a pretty on the side of your post? Do you communicate with them as well?
I do and I've always wondered if other people do, as well.
Sometimes, I use them to highlight something about my post that I particularly like. Sometimes they are the emotion I'm conveying. Sometimes they are the emotion I'm really feeling but am trying to suppress in the post itself.
There are times, in real life, that I think to myself, "I wish I had an icon for that." or "That particular icon would work great in this situation."
I seldom have many ship icons or, if I do, I seldom use them. Many of my icons are geared to the fandom I'm in at the moment so that I can be assured of an icon that fits not only the emotion but the place/people as well.
Something else you should know about me... see the icon I'm using for this? Notice that only half her face is showing? I love icons that have people who are "hidden" in this fashion. It means there is something there that you may not see. That intrigues me.
