It's the start of the wedding season for us today, it's a bit damp outside, but I'm sure the celebrations will go to plan.

Peter's 60th Birthday Party was a great success, everyone came, ate, drank and chatted.  The little Indian restaurant was packed, with all 38 seats full from pretty much 7.30 'till he closed at about 10.30.  The £5 we asked everyone to bring was just the right amount, in fact lots of people ate for even less than that!  The This is Your Life book ( Read more... )

We went to stay with Peter's old chum and partner for the weekend.  They live in the Staffordshire hills in a house which they created from a tumbledown cottage a few years ago in the middle of nowhere.  Two other friends came for supper on Friday night and much fun was had by all.  Our hostess is currently in the beginners fever of a new diet ( ( Read more... )

The last three weekends have been spent away from home at various friends houses - Henley, Bristol and finally a long weekend in the Isle of Wight which were all splendid indeed.  The only problem is that I have more or less forgotten what home is actually like.  So this weekend we are being very local indeed.

Wonderful run in the sun from Chorlton Water Park to Sale Water Park along the Mersey. About 6.7km in 40 mins. Most enjoyable.
Collect leaflets from printer in north Manchester for The Chorlton Film Institute.

I've just won a pair of tickets to see/hear Polly Paulusma recording a radio session for Channel 4 Radio on Sunday in Manchester (no, I didn't know they had an online radio station either, it actually looks quite good.) It's promoting her second album which I am really looking forward to as the first one was just brilliant.
