It's All Yours, Boyfriend

Aug 20, 2012 02:30

Okay, so right now I'm getting caught up on season 5 episodes of True Blood.  My favorite couple right now is Lafayette and Jesus.  I just think they are perfect for each other, without giving away any spoilers.  I was in the middle of watching episode 8 today, and there's a scene where they are together and it prompted me to write a little something for where they are, right then and there.  If you want to remain completely spoiler free because you're getting caught up on the series too, then stop reading now:

Fandom: True Blood
Pairing:  Lafayette & Jesus
Rating: K+
Word Count: 325
Summary:  A short little "scene" set right after Lafayette sees the love of his life in his car, while in Mexico, when he's on his way home to Louisiana during the middle of episode 8, season 5.

It’s all yours, boyfriend

Disclaimer:  No infringement intended.  This was just a little bit of dreamy fun I had.

They hold hands as they drive down the old Mexican road to cross the border.  “Pull over, right there,” Jesus says with a smile.  Lafayette guides the car and parks it underneath a towering tree off by the side of the road.  For a while, they just look at each other.  “I miss you,” Lafayette says finally.  “I miss you too,” Jesus replies.

He traces his finger around his lover’s mouth, and runs it down his neck and over his torso.  He snuggles his head against Lafayette’s chest and listens to his heart beating. Lafayette wraps his arms around him.  “I miss this, listening to your heart beat” Jesus says.  “Well listen on then.  It’s all yours, boyfriend.”

Lafayette reclines the seat back and relaxes for the first time in a long while, since Jesus was taken from him, he now realizes.    “Let’s just stay here for the night,” he says.  “Can’t.  Gotta go.”  “You’re dead! Where you gotta go?”

Jesus just laughs and smiles and kisses him gently.  Lafayette sees him fading away.  “Don’t leave me,” he says as feels the presence of his lover slipping off into that unknown place where spirits go.  And then he’s gone.

Misty-eyed, Lafayette turns the engine of the car and puts it in gear.  It’s time to go home to Bon Temps.  As he starts to pull away from under the tree and turn into the road, he stops.  “I could never leave you,” he hears in a faint, distant whisper.  “I’m all yours, boyfriend.”

Fin :)
