With Game of Thrones out of the way for the rest of the summer, I decided to try watching True Blood. A friend recommended it to me, so I gave it a try. And let me tell you -
This is one gory, bloody, twisted show. It's the closest thing to horror that I'm interested in watching. It's full of vampires, werewolves, shape shifters, witches, and other crazy things and people. Surprisingly, to myself, I'm still watching it. It follows the interesting lives of Sookie Stackhouse, her brother, and friends. It takes place in the little (and very weird) town of Bon Temps in the state of Louisiana. Vampires are known to the outside world, and now they are fighting for their equal rights. A new vampire, named Bill, comes to town and meets a waitress, Sookie, at the local diner. They fall in love as dead bodies start piling up in a case of unsolved murders. Some people think it's Bill, but none of the bodies have been drained of blood. Other strange things start to happen as Sookie and her friends find out that they are more than they thought they were made of, and other people they thought they knew aren't quite what they seem.
Right now, I'm on season 4 of the 5 seasons that are out, and so far I'm a little hooked. I recommend this series to anyone who likes horror, out of the ordinary, and touches of the paranormal. There's also a lot of sex and nudity in this series, sprinkled with bits of humor throughout, just in case anyone needs a heads-up.
