Well, I've committed myself to trying to do at least one photoshop post per month, so that way I can say that I'm learning something monthly at least. I started to work on touching up head-shots, but that proved to be too much work this time around. I like to try to learn one or two, maybe three, new things each time I learn. With the photo I selected, it was going to be more than that. Sooo, I decided "I know! I'll learn how to make a gif." A simple gif image of some video shouldn't be too hard, or so I thought.
First, I selected some video I wanted, and then I tried to load it into Photoshop. Immediately I got an error message telling me that this would not work with the 64-bit version and that I needed to use the 32-bit version. Okay, so I installed the 32-bit version. I opened up Photoshop again, this time the 32-bit version, and I tried to import the video. This time, I got an error message telling me that I needed to have Quick Time 7 before this would work. "Alright," I thought. Even though that's an Apple product, I went ahead and updated my Quick Time since I had it anyway. I opened up Photoshop again and tried to load my video. This time, I was told that the video I wanted to use was the wrong file type. So, I went ahead and selected different video. When I tried to load that video into Photoshop, the file folder opened, but the video wasn't there. Okay, at this point, I was starting to get frustrated. :(
To spare anyone reading this all of the grief I went through making a simple little gif, I'll just move along to the fact that although it took some time and a little bit of determination, I finally made my little gif. The video I wanted to use was, of course, that of Teyla in SGA, but I was more than happy to settle for Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, played by SGA's Jason Momoa -- AKA Ronon. :)
Who wouldn't want a gif of Kaleesi's "Sun and Stars," right? Here's my finished product (finally):
Enjoy! :)
