ArtFight is done for the year and it was a pretty good run. I had a goal for a piece a week and I managed eight so I'm pretty proud of myself for doubling up, especially considering I did three larger pieces with some detail.

This one was quite the thing with all the details.

This morning started with a ride hauling out with Lisa and her horse Ben. I took Tru-D along since Talon went out yesterday. She did really well. There were a couple spots she needed Ben to act the part of the sacrificial gelding to be sure it was safe. I have a client ... I like her as  person and she has been a great, consistent client.  They took off a few months when she had knee surgery, but I got them back a bit over a week ago and put a "welcome back to work" ride on Bud, in which he did fantastic.  We just walked as he has done next to nothing during the break and he was driving fit before ( Read more... )

So Sunday we added dirt to the arena, We also ripped up our rock-hard footing. It looked like broken up concrete for several passes, but it improved as we went. Monday I had my first lessons in it. Sunny was a bit zoomy with Olivia, but they worked through it nicely. I think we have the footing to blame as Ruby was cantering around too ( Read more... )
