My Kingdom For Pants!

I've talked about it before, so I'm sure some of you are familiar with my quest for pants.

I have simple tastes. I don't like the stone-rubbed look. I don't like my jeans to appear as though I've already owned them for years. I don't need any fancy designs or anything of the sort. All I want is a pair of plain jeans that fits reasonably well!

Of course this eliminates virtually all women jeans because they want to be tight and shapely and half of them are stretch, which I don't mind the stretch, but it wears a lot quicker than plain jean material and since a lot of what I do in my pants is around horses, I need something durable. While I prefer breeches when I ride, I wear jeans when I teach and I have to be just as ready to pop on and ride as my students are.

Anyway ...

All that I ask for is pair of 569 Levis ... Student style, Loose Straight. Of course, that isn't too hard to find, but as soon as you ask for 28x30 you might as well give up. It's as if they can no longer comprehend that a person might want or have an inseam that is longer than their waist size.

Of course, it doesn't help that women jeans refuse to use actual waist measurements. Heaven forbid a woman recognize a number as high as 28 in reference to her size! No, size "6" or "4" is a much better number, if highly irrelevant to any actual measurement of the human waistline.

Oh yes, and did I mention I despise low-rise jeans. They drive me nuts, which eliminates 80% of all feminine pantwear.

Is it really that hard to supply a simple pair of jeans?

I spent almost two hours looking for a pair. I ended up purchasing some Vanderbilts, which fit well, but they're the stretch fabric, which wears quickly (I have two pair that I need to toss/recycle because the groin area is just about shot). Granted, I can't complain too much because I basically paid nothing for them as I had some coupons/gift cards, but still! I would like some pants!
