random stuff type of update
So, second week of classes (third, technically, but last week was cancelled because of Gustav). Of course, the Monday night class wasn't affected by last week's cancellation. I still really like the school. I still don't really talk to anyone, but hey, is anyone surprised by that?
I still miss Buddy. In some ways coming home from Dallas brought it all up to the surface because of seeing all of his toys, blankets, and beds around the apartment. Today makes one week without him. I suppose my friends/acquaintances who aren't pet people think I'm being maudlin/ridiculous/etc. I mean, no one's said that, but I feel like I keep talking about Buddy more than anyone cares to hear. I still zone out at random and lapse into memory-daydreams about Buddy, especially when something triggers a memory. After that many years together, a lot of things trigger memories (going to bed at night because he's not near me, cooking because he's not at my feet hoping I'll drop stuff, reading because his head's not on my knee with my non-book hand petting him, grocery shopping and not buying him anything, coming home from somewhere and only being greeted by the cat . . . it goes on). Some mornings I still start to make him an egg before I remember. Anyway, there I go again.
Rook is doing well with school, so far. He seems to enjoy it and it's cute to hear his stories about his day. He needs a haircut. I think Tim is willing to give it a go. If not, I'll find some extra money and take him to a barber. I know I can't cut hair.
I'm writing fairly productively, so far. I still haven't dug out my paints yet--but I did find my canvases and easel yesterday. So, soon . . . if I'm going to complete my Dreamscape project for my theory class, it'll be pretty soon so I can get started on the pictures with plenty of time for frustrated raging :).
We need to do laundry. Ugh, I miss either having our own units or having family nearby. I hate coin operated laundry.
