Feel free to ignore all my
So You Think You Can Dance
Before I begin, not that anyone cares, but please note that I know absolutely nothing about dance. (Clearly.) All of my opinions are really just...personal opinions. *shrugs* Opinions formed strictly on the basis of how each dancer makes me feel with their, um, art.
1. How bad is it that the first thing I noticed tonight was Judge Dan sitting right next to Judge Brian? Rather than at the opposite end of the table like last week. *squeaks* I may or may not have made a comment to Scott over MSN about under-the-table gropage. I'm not saying for sure.
2. The second best thing about this show, next to the Dan/Brian factor, is the music. I've got about four new tracks on my playlist as a result of watching this show.
3. I still love Snow. I don't get all the hate that's being spewed about her over at the
TWoP forums. It's really a bummer that this is the second week she is up for elimination though.
4. Maybe even a little more than Snow, this week I'm crushing on
Melody. She's a cutie, and her dancing has a lot of life, a lot of personality. Also, I love that she danced to "You Can Leave Your Hat On" at the end, even though I prefer the Joe Cocker cover over the original.
5. Still love Ryan and his Sonic the Hedgehog/Angsty-Emo Final Fantasy character hairdo. Also, so much
Craig and
Nick love tonight. No love to the judges for putting them up for elimination along with
Jamile, who I also think is pretty darn great.
6. Shit. I need to NOT be so attached to these people.
7. I'd like to reiterate my wish that I'd become involved in dance when I was a little one. It's so beautiful. Such a wonderful way to express oneself.
8. Also, dancers have rocking bodies. It's completely insane.
9. Judge Mia, who I previously pegged as a hybrid of Scott's crazy drunk Aunt and my feminist English Lit. teacher from high school, frightens me a little, I've decided. "Be a person, not a dancer." What the fuck? I suppose the reason I don't get her is because I'm not a dancer of any sort. Lyrical seems very out there, but it is undoubtedly pretty.
10. The two couples who did lyrical dance routines had the ugliest orange costumes. Judge Dan called them on it too, which was funny.
11. (a) Two more points for Judge Dan and his comment about "the quickstep...sucking the life out of him." I was really not getting the
quickstep thing. It just looked like the dancers who did were doing a lot of running about the stage kicking their feet everywhere as fast as was humanly possible. I thought it looked a little silly. But, again, no dancer am I.
(b) Judge Dan was just dishing it out tonight. I kind of dug Michelle's solo routine, so I thought it was a little brutal of him to say that "it reeked of desperation." Makes me think maybe Brian was being a great big tease and Danny boy was getting a lil' frustrated. You know, like, sexually. *coughs* Oh, shush.
12. I like that the dancers are so close and seem so supportive of one another. Makes for happy reality TV, though who knows how long it'll stay that way. Lauren HO-chez sure likes to stir up the drama.
Also, I thought I'd do this
...that I grabbed from
lipstick_peril when she wasn't looking. Well, not really.
This Summer, Have you....
had a party? Scott had one. I was sort of just...there. Possibly contemplating doing some violence to a certan character who shall remain nameless.
gone to a party? Yes.
spent the night with someone? Yup.
laughed until your stomach hurt? Definitely.
laughed until you almost peed your pants? I can honestly say that I never have this particular physical reaction when laughing. I get the tears, the stitches, but not the bladder control thing. Go fig.
gone on vacation? Ottawa/Gatineau was a bit of a vacation. And then there's camping this weekend. Whee.
tanned? Not purposely.
went to a camp? No, but we're going camp-ing this weekend, as was previously mentioned.
swam? You bet.
went to the movies? Mm-hmm.
gone shopping? Sort of but not really.
had a job? Heh. Soon enough, my friend.
gotten freakishly bored? I'm pretty darn good at filling up the time, keeping myself amused, but I do, as everyone does, get bored from time to time.
have you gotten sun burned yet? A little, but not badly.
made a bonfire? No, but this weekend I'm sure there will be a few.
been outside during a lightning storm? Twice, actually. Canada Day in Ottawa, and I ran home from the gym in one one day.
been to another state/province? Quebec
been to another country? Sadly, no.
changed someting about your appearance? the hair, and lost a bit of weight (though I doubt it's noticeable)
been to the the hospital with an injury? No, thank goodness.
commited a crime/broken the law? Not really.
gone on a road trip? Not technically.
had a g/f or b/f? How 'bout a husband?
dumped a g/f or b/f? I'd like to say something clever here, but nothing comes to mind at the moment.
kissed someone? I have, m'lady.
been to a concert? Yes. Canada Day in Ottawa. It was awesome.
been in trouble with the cops/parents? No.
had a memorable moment? Always.

made new friends? Yup. Their names are Stacey and Clinton.
