A Message from Your Elders

Just wanted to get this out there...

So this article on AICN is talking about how the Weinsteins are editing the heck out of Fanboys (movie about a bunch of geeks in 1998/99 sneaking into Skywalker Ranch to steal a print of Star Wars: Episode 1 so their friend with cancer can see it before he dies). As in, taking out the cancer subplot because cancer != good comedy. I disagree (taking it out would probably ruin the movie) but whatever, not the point of this post.

What I find humorous is the talkback on the post, which has a number of people saying things like, "I first saw the teaser on the Clerks 2 DVD" or "I've known about it since Celebration II" or something similiar. Like there's some kind of pissing match going on regarding how long you've been waiting.

And the amount of ignorance is amazing, and I laugh and laugh and laugh, because you know how long I've been waiting for this film?

Since this article (oh, the article itself is shite, but still, I was intrigued by the concept).

1998, bitches. Ten years. So long that I stopped caring (but hey, Kirsten Bell, could be cool).

So just stop. Just stop, for the love of god. STOP.
