I'm trying not let this get to me
but every positive I offer up, the God-King counters with a negative.

He's taking it pretty hard. He's been working on the boy's room for months now. He just has to do the crown molding, and some other small stuff, and it would be done - but now that has to wait while we deal with the immediacies of wet carpet, wood, pipes, motors, and mold.

I'm in the same boat (oooh, bad pun) with my novel - halfway through the final revision and everything came to a halt because of a narrative glitch. Took me weeks to slice and dice and smooth everything out so that I'm happy with it, and now I have to focus on other things. Forget about my early January completion date. Funny, that he can't empathize with that.

But I'm trying to look at the bright sides. Things could be worse. Much, much worse. We have a little savings, we have homeowners insurance, we needed to do this work anyway...

I just can't be in the same room with my husband for very long, right now. My emotional sump pump can't handle all that negativity.

Oh, hey. Lookit my default icon. That's me. Standing in a cave full of water. Wringing out magic.
Yup.
