Thank you HalfElf and Taen, 'Rift, I'll get yours after you get paid.
Supposedly the hotel will not be charging us? There is a lot of confusion.
We have it from the manager and accounting that there is a large note on our account from the managers not to charge our account. I would rather be safe than sorry, so thank you for your prompt response.
If they don't charge us, I will hold onto the money to pay forward for the con.
This is getting really fucking annoying.

EDIT: I just talked to the fairmont... again... just to double check what they said this morning. I spoke to a very nice young man who informed me that I am within the cancellation policy, which means that if I cancel, I will be charged. He said that there was supposed to be a deposit taken out of my account on November 1st, but it wasn't done and he said, and I quote "We're already 19 days into the month, if they hadn't taken it already, they probably aren't going to. So, there's nothing to worry about."
So, the accounting people and the sales manager say we're not paying. The reservations clerk was unsure. FC says we ARE paying. Hmmm.
