technology man

Yesterday, for no reason anyone could tell, my and new guy's phones stopped working around 10:00 a.m. We both have internet routers hooked through ours but the internet worked. Just the phones didn't. Even when the tech took my phone to another outlet it didn't work. They were off for most of the day but people came in last night and seemed to have gotten them working. At least I don't have to keep running to boss' office to answer the phone.

Except mine says it's January 1 and ten something (it's 9:40) and I can't get it to change even when I go in and put in the correct settings.

Minor first world issue, but I do use that for my time when I take messages.

Also, I can't figure out how to relatch my garage door. I got all sweaty yesterday trying to do it. I even pulled off the instruction tag and followed the very vague instructions. Very annoying. Obviously dad did not stop by yesterday and do it for me like he said he would.

And then I went to the pharmacy and for the first time ever, a refill they had to call in for (the needles) wasn't ready the same day. Now the computer phone voice tells me to wait 24 hours but I've never had to. So, back today. I also called in Metformin and it was out of refills, too, but hopefully giving them eight hours, they can get it so I can just pay for everything at once.

Royals won in a thriller--three run homer in the ninth put them up 5-4 and then our closer, Holland, came in and zip, zip, zip. :) This after the starter gave up a grandslam in the fourth or fifth that put the Rays up 4-2. :)

Home to start a four game series with Detroit tonight before the All Star Game.

Le Tour was...well, a near disaster yesterday! Rain and cobblestones don't mix, though most of the crashes (and there were at least a dozen!) were before the cobbles. Last year's winner went bye bye and boy is Team Sky second guessing NOT putting Wiggins, the winner from 2012, on the team due to personality clashes with Froome (winner from last year).

Amazingly enough the guy in Yellow (who is a climber) handled the cobbles like he rode them daily and gained over two minutes on the rest of the contenders (two of which are Americans). What I find interesting is that I haven't heard Frank Schleck talked about at all. A few years ago he was always a contender, then his brother (who went out in stage four this year) took over that role. I had to check to make sure Frank was even in the field, and he's actually his team leader. Interesting.

In other news, Fabian Cancellara is gorgeous. NBCSPN keeps having him pop up on the aftershow to chat. His nickname is Spartacus.

Today it's flat and boring so I'll just zoom through most of it.

To my dismay the first three eps of Defiance aren't being rerun on Syfy after all. :P The person who uploads it makes you get a password for each one and everything and it takes a couple days, but syfy.com has them available so I'll just watch them there. I did remember that Fox reruns 24 on Fridays so I have this past Monday's ep set for tomorrow.

Now I just need to watch stuff but sports, man.

Got home yesterday in time to see Argentina win on PKs. I guess I'll root for Germany in the final.

I have hardly anything to do at work except busy work I don't want to do. I guess it's back to hole punching...

I plan to watch The Strain which starts on Sunday but the eye thing is gross. I have a thing about eyes.

I got my not a bill from the insurance company for the doctor and it didn't cover everything that I can tell (why are these things incomprehensible?) and I have to pay the rest of my deductible so it's like $750. :P I'm a bit worried not everything at the hospital will be covered. I don't know why the world thinks I'm made of money this summer. Thank God I was actually pretty good in England and didn't buy a lot of stuff (due to heavy suitcase).

I had something else to say, on the tip of my fingers, and now I can't remember it.

So, I guess I'll do some work.

work stuff, le tour, technology confuses me, sports in general, tv blather, first world problems
