Dear Rare Pair Fest Author
First let me say that I'm not picky. I'll love anything you write for me. :)
That said, there are a few things I'm a particular fan of (and some things I don't enjoy).
I love any rating, pretty much any genre, het, slash and gen, and dark stuff (even noncon) is AOK with me. If you want to see what I like to read, just check out what I write, either at AO3 (ladyoneill) or my website, www.meanderingmuse.com
But, write wherever your muse takes you!
First a few things I don't enjoy: second person, scat and watersports, deathfic (unless specifically asked for or it's a canon character death), mpreg (except a few fandoms where I love it and write it obsessively), babies/kids dying unless in canon or very minor characters, ABO dynamics (highly unlikely here), bashing characters (unless the characters do it in canon), all human AUs (which probably don't apply here), complete AUs where people are placed in different eras or different places or space, when, for example, the fandom is set in 1900 New York City (again these probably don't apply), and, finally always a different gender characters (ie Phil Coulsen always have been Phillipa).
I'm not a huge fan of complete fluff but love happy endings. I love angst and dark stuff and kink other than the ones listed above that I don't like. I also love domestic stories, and character driven stories, and baby/kid fics. I'm a historian at heart (and degrees) so historical accuracy or at least along the lines of the fandom is greatly appreciated. First or third person, one perspective or multiple, all are great. Oh, and I don't mind infidelity; I know some people do.
Oh, also, if you want to throw in other characters from the fandom not listed or in the tagset, feel free. There are none in any of the fandoms I've requested that I don't like.
Specifics:
Angel the Series: Together with Buffy (as I always think of these as one fandom) this was my first fandom love. I adore Lindsey--have a thing for the bad boys--and Lilah (wicked girls are great, too). I love all the interactions between Angel and Lindsey. You want to bring him back from the dead? Go for it. Make him pissed at Angel for having him killed? Yay. I haven't kept up with the comics, so prefer you go from Not Fade Away, but anything set during the show (especially final season or when Lindsey was one handed) is cool. As for Lilah/Wes, I prefer dark Wes, the one she helped create. Maybe they hook back up in hell or she brings him back to work for her, or it's set during that wonderful time when he's all scruffy and dark and doing her. And then there's Illyria/Spike. I was never a big fan of Fred (hence the Lilah/Wes love) but I adore Illyria in all her inhuman icy cluelessness and her 'wanting Spike as a pet' hits a great big kink. Have him help her be more human or have them on a quest or just have them boinking. I'm not picky.
Teen Wolf: My current fandom love; I pretty much write and read only in this fandom at the moment. My favorite character is Peter but I prefer him not a complete black hat. Wicked, scheming, nasty at times, sure but not downright evil. A close second favorite is Stiles (hence my favorite pairing being Stiles/Peter *g* but since I can't have that here...) I adore him smart, brilliant even, and even darkish and pragmatic. I've written him with Deucalion a few times--dark fics, love those. Stiles sacrificing himself for his pack and dad are a big plus for me too and that plays in with Duke well. Back to Peter: If I can't have Peter/Stiles, I love him with Lydia, too. I love Lydia, bitchy and super smart and witty and wicked. She's a good foil for Peter. Have something continue off their season 2 storyline or something set now. You can throw in Malia, I like her. I also like Peter/Sheriff (prefer John as his name) with a redeeming Peter storyline of sorts. Maybe John's never been with a man, never been attracted to one, and he's baffled by his reaction to a former dead killer. As for Peter/Deucalion, I like the idea of them having been together in the past. Nasty, dark fic is always appreciated along with happy fic.
Stargate Universe: I really liked this show. I like all the characters, though I mostly het them here. I thought TJ/Young never went anywhere, so make it go somewhere. Have the baby around, too, and I'll love you. I love Greer. I like the idea of his and Lisa's relationship starting out just sex and becoming something more, which would surprise her. I like that she's ballsy. As for Chloe/Rush, the connection between them from the alien ship needed to be explored even more. Just don't get them together by trashing Scott because I like him, too.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: As mentioned, my first fandom love. All of my favorite pairings aren't eligible, sadly, but I do like Angel/Faith a lot (and here I have read their comics so you can use them). Him helping her with her darkness; her dealing with Angelus (love Angelus). Just don't trash Buffy, please (except for the natural snarkiness of Faith to her sister slayer). I've written all of one Giles/Faith fic and there's an interesting dynamic there. Maybe something set after Sunnydale. As for Buffy/Spike/Angel, if I had one true threesome, that would be it. I've slashed Angel/Spike (and Angelus/Spike, you can ALWAYS write Angelus) for eighteen years. I adore Buffy with Spike; I like her with Angel (prefer Angelus, but I'm weird that way). Throw them all together, and yay. The boys wrestling over her? Cool!
