annnnd a bunch of time has gone since a real post again. I'm going to blame the anemia. I like to blame it for most everything.

No, really, I'm just so tired all the frickin' time, no energy, just want to laze around and read fanfic and watch tv.

So, since the 18th, my air conditioner was replaced and is working wonderfully. They didn't even charge me extra for a rush job.

The USA has made it to the round of sixteen at the World Cup. USA, USA, USA!

England sucked in the World Cup.

The Royals had a wonderful winning streak and now are sucking.

I've been enjoying Crossbones (pirates!) and Dominion (angels!) and liked The Last Ship (viral apocalypse!), too. I also finally started watching Penny Dreadful and really like it.

I picked up my parents at the airport on Sunday. Their flights were all on time of course. Mom's suitcase came in on an earlier flight. Dad's came in the next day. Yeah, no clue. At least it got there and they deliver it to your house. I was taping the USA/Portugal match and trying to ignore the cheering from the sports bar. Anyway, when I drove over there (about an hour drive) it was sunny and blue sky. When we left the airport it was overcast. Within ten minutes it was pouring down buckets of rain. Now, I don't like driving on the highway in normal conditions. I was freaked. We drove through the entire rain band, narrow but long, going north to south, all along I-70. Sometimes I could barely see more than twenty feet ahead. I drove 45 mph in a 75 mph zone. Of course by the time we reached their house it was barely sprinkling.

Tuesday I had to do the liquid diet thing. Ensure is actually pretty good. I might use it as a supplement in the future. I had a bottle of apple juice, three Ensures, and some jello. I'd planned to eat more but once I started the cleansing that evening, my appetite was gone. God it was gross and messy and exhausting and I was still going all through the night and into the morning.

Mom took me to the hospital. The nurses were all very nice and friendly and I got some compliments on my dark blue fingernails. The doctor was brusque but fine. They were concerned about my high heart rate--well yeah, that's a symptom of anemia people--but I was fine under anesthetic. I was actually still slightly awake when he started the colonoscopy--ow--but was out of it completely for the endoscopy (down the throat) which was a good thing because I freak out when things get near my throat.

I think the whole procedure took about 45 minutes. I was awake very quickly, I think I surprised the nurse who hadn't even fetched my mom yet.

So, the probable (they're testing some samples, but the doctor was pretty sure) is ulcerated colitis which is ulcers in the colon. Some of the places were fine, some were really chewed up looking. And that thing I thought was a hemmeroid for two years? An ulcer on my ass. Yay. *snort* He pretty much ruled out Crones (sp) and Celiac, thank god, and there were no problems found through the endoscopy (which is where they tend to find Crones according to my dad who of course researched everything--I'm surprised he didn't go with me as he was more freaked out than I was). The doctor indicated that medicine can fix the ulcers, one of which is prednaszone (sp), a steroid, and diabetics aren't really supposed to take steroids. Also I'll probably have to cut out most fruits and veggies which, again, I'm supposed to eat as a diabetic. One of the symptoms of these ulcers is diarrhea and loose stools and I've been having those for a couple years (particularly bad over this past weekend) so if it can fix that, yay.

I just want to feel normal again, with energy, and not having to run to the bathroom at a moment's notice.

I go to my regular doctor tomorrow for my diabetic checkup so hopefully the results will be in and I can get started on whatever meds I need.

I did manage to get my pedicure that afternoon--no pain in the butt, but an ache until this morning at the entrance to my throat--and slept a lot. Went to work yesterday and had a few bouts of diarrhea which wasn't pleasant, and no appetite really. Feel better today and I'm going to my parents' for fried rice for dinner.

I need to bake bread tonight to take to church tomorrow for Sunday snacks, and decide if I'm going to sing "Nature Boy" at church in a couple weeks. I'm finally pretty much caught up at work and hope to get some writing done as I've been slacking on that since I got back from England.

So, that's the state of me. Exciting, isn't it.

Oh, wait, TEEN WOLF YAY YAY YAY!

state of me, stupid weather, tv blather, family stuff, stupid body
