So, this is a continuation of my last post about the drahma lahmas.... it's gotten even more ridiculous there. I'm basically being shut out of the schedule because the owner is so far up this guy's ass, that I swear she must want to jump his bones.
Beginning of August-ish, she asked me what ideas I might have for expanding services and so, I thought about what I wanted to do, since she has been all over new guy. I got a catalog from Biotone the other day and after going to their website, I found some services that I was willing to try and learn. Narrowing it down, I wrote up the following email to her on what I wanted to do and my concerns about booking order.
Dear CBL:
Here are a few thoughts that have been running through my head - 90 minute hot stone for like $119 - (that's only like $20 more for another half hour.) Or, how about a 2 hour hot stone for like $149? Give the customers a choice of longer services to choose when they feel that an hour just won't be long enough to work out those stubborn knots. This is something to really think about going into cooler weather and when we will hopefully have more of a winter this year.
Also, Biotone has a whole list of spa services on their website that are cheap and easy to do, yet can provide high profit. (
http://www.biotone.com/protocols is the website I've been looking at since I got their catalog the other day.)
Something like this:
http://www.biotone.com/pdf/HeartAndSoleFootMassage.pdf - instead of soaking the feet, we wrap them in hot towels during the massage as a prep for this treatment.
Or, the Muscle Tension Melt:
http://www.biotone.com/pdf/MuscleTensionMelt2.pdf Or, even the Pumpkin Skin Quench:
http://www.biotone.com/pdf/PumpkinSkinQuench.pdf They don't take much prep, nor need much extra in terms of equipment. It's just the purchasing of the products which pays off quickly when you do these types of services.
I had thought about incorporating more Thai work into the SG massage, so if you want to run a special on that - like 2 hours again for something like $129, that would be awesome.
Now, my next question is - why is S getting booked for non-request clients ahead of me? My bookings have fallen off to nothing since you brought S on and for non-request clients, I should be booked ahead of him, since I am the most senior therapist right now. (A is getting ready to quit once again - depending on what she's told which person, it could be end of September or end of December.) Friday was a perfect example of that with all the services he had - i.e.Client 1 getting a neck & shoulder then knees to toes, then Client 2 was booked as a non-request with him on Thursday by you when I had absolutely nothing on my books. Why is that?
I'd like to see more balance in the bookings here because as I stated, I am the most senior therapist (A quit last December, remember? She was gone for close to 3 months, leaving me as your primary therapist) and this total uneven scheduling has left me really wondering what's going on here.
Thanks,
me
Her answer, which was a non-answer: Thanks for the great ideas. I'm solo w one other receptionist today so cant neet today but would be happy to meet w you next week to address your concerns regarding bookings and your ideas. I can meet on Monday pretty much anytime before 330. Pisdibly on Tuesday too.
I didn't answer that email right away because I ended up busy at Westport that day. Besides, she wanted me to come up there on my days off to come talk with her? Seriously? Is she going to pay me for my time & gas to drive up there?
Here's the progression of events from there:
So, Saturday afternoon, after I'd already figured she wasn't going to call me in for the day, she texted me at 1:30, telling me to go ahead and take the day off. I was working WP. :-p I had a client on the table with another one due in right after, therefore, I didn't answer her text. Why would I bother? Just to say that yes, I got the message?
Sunday afternoon, I get a call from receptionist R that my one and only appointment had canceled. So, I didn't go in to do my payroll. Again, almost an hour drive each way and no pay, so why should I?
Nothing heard from CBL on Monday, Tuesday morning she calls me and I don't bother answering the phone, since I'm getting ready to go up to my mom's place to go do my laundry. (I was surprisingly busy at WP on Saturday - 3 full massages & then a chair massage, so I had work laundry to do on top of my personal laundry!)
She texts me Tuesday night and says she'll call me about 8:45 am on Wednesday? I don't answer that one because I figure with her screwed sense of reality, she'll call anyway. (She's been known to start calling/texting people before 7 am.)
She doesn't call and so I'm like whatever. She texts me Wednesday afternoon and tells me that they're closing early due to lack of business, so I'm off tonight. Again, I don't answer it because what is there to say? Okay, you're a stupid fool for not trying to grow the business beyond your crappy FB page, annoying website and mailing list, so that's why the business is freaking stagnant and not growing?
Later on, I get this text from her, because I haven't responded to her yet, that she's going to pull me off the schedule until we can sit down and talk. WTF? She's the one that's screwing both A and I over with booking S ahead of us for non-request clients.
I text back saying, "I thought you were going to call this morning?"
Her: "Well, you never answered me last night. I'll have to check my schedule..."
Seriously? WTF does she do all damn day? She spends more time OUT of the shop than in it. We send her out to go up to Sally's right up the road and she takes 2+ hours to drive less than a 1/2 mile up the road, pick up the supplies and come back. She's usually gone by the time I come in on any afternoon. She barely can get the register opened in the morning, let alone turning anything on in the back bar.
At this point, I'm filing unemployment against her, since I'm not pulling in min $250/week there and I'm damn tired of asking my parents for money just so I can pay my rent.
I think she was just looking for an excuse to shove me out the door anyway now that she's got S there - he's her golden child and anyone else - can just take it or leave it.
Just the drama there exhausts me. I dread going into work, knowing I have to watch what I say around whom for fear they will go tattling back to the boss. I can't talk to the boss and say, "Look, I'm unhappy with the way this is going..." because she's never available to talk to me when I'm there. The non-answers I get from her are that - non-answers. Or, if I do get an answer it's negative because she doesn't want to branch out and try something new that I suggest. Yet now with new guy there, it's all about him. She doesn't fix anything and expects that we can just keep working on these concrete floors without any padding under our feet. I
I walk out of there just aching some days because of being on my feet all day and not having any padding.
