The End of the Pink Place!

So, Monday's phone call was full of BS.  It boiled down to CBL firing me and she was like, "Well, if there's anything you want to say, now's the time to say it..."

I said nothing because what could I say?  I'd said it in my email to her asking her why she was booking new guy over me and her response, "Maybe you need to find a job closer to home...."

She knew how far away I lived when she hired me and that's not changed as of yet, so now that's an issue?  She is so full of shit and such a liar.

I found out what the mandatory team meeting was Thursday morning - she sold the place & was introducing the new owners - a mother/daughter combo.  The mother apparently has years of experience in the hospitality industry and apparently has run hotel spas and such in the past.  The daughter is fresh college grad with a business and fashion degree.  So, the daughter is going to take over the retail side and the mother is going to run the spa.

So, where does that leave the Princess K, who was CBL's best buddy?  Essentially out of a job.  She didn't know this was going down either, CBL didn't tell her anything about it.

I knew she was seriously either looking to sell or close shop in May when she quit selling gift cards and tried to push the trial club membership thing and went on her mad cleaning sprees.  Another coworker figured something was up back in December when she suddenly wanted to sell off all the extra equipment in the back.  She flat out lied to another coworker T in saying that she had no plans to go anywhere, wasn't selling the business and so forth when T confronted her about it in May.

Then, going through the job ads, there have been nail tech and MT ads all up and down CL the last few weeks advertising for the Pink Place, despite them trying to hide it, my smarter coworkers and I all saw them - dress code, location, job description...    What do new owners do when they come in?  Clean house.  They invariably find ways to get rid of those who don't fit their mold and ideal employee image.

In the end, what does this boil down to?  It means that CBL knew damn well what she was doing - she has siphoned off enough $$ from the place that it's probably on the verge of bankruptcy and is taking what $$ she's stashed away, along with the profit from the sale and is going to buy her daughter's way through a private college on the east coast that the daughter has no interest in going to.  The girl won't survive academically and will probably turn into a party girl when she gets away from her insane parents.

I get my unemployment, she can't deny that and it means she may well get zapped by the state for wrongful termination.  She has no written reprimands, no reviews, nothing to say that I did anything wrong.  Especially, since she announced the sale of the place just 3 days after she fired me.  *eg*

I was talking about this yesterday with a coworker and one of her friends and the friend is looking for bedroom furniture for her daughter and wanted to see the pics of my white furniture I have for sale.  She liked it and may well buy it when she and the boyfriend move into their new house.

work, work suckage
