I spent the day at St George Hospital, I had to have multiple scans on my right breast. They found a small lump so I had a biopsy and a marker clip inserted.  Steve was so patient, we were there for six hours while I was getting all the tests done. It has been pretty busy, Steve's mobility has gotten worse so he has now been approved for a motorised wheelchair. He has a new occupation therapist and she is great. She is right on top of all the paperwork and everything. She is an older lady and really knows what she is doing. She came out to our home to meet Steve along with his support ( Read more... )

It's been pretty busy this week, it started off with me heading out to Fairfield on Tuesday at stupid o'clock in the morning because I had to take two trains to get out there and it was pouring rain. It's Sunday and it's the first day Steve and I have actually been able to have a day at home. Yesterday I went to Campbelltown to the movies with one of my daughters and grandkids, we saw Elemental which was much better than I thought it was going to be. It's been a pretty busy week, mostly medical appointments for Steve and myself. I had to have a CT scan this morning and I am still waiting to hear from the hospital for the colonoscopy and the endoscopy. I am getting them through the hospital because they are covered by Medicare. It also turns out that Steve definitely does have Angina, our doctor ( Read more... )

Sorry, I haven't posted for a little while but Steve and I have been dealing with health stuff. It turns out that Steve was on the verge of having a heart attack. This happened a couple of weeks ago. He started having chest pains and I called an ambulance. It turns out that he has a narrowing of the aorta ventricle and angina. He is on aspirin and ( Read more... )

But hopefully, I will be able to step off. I had a telehealth conference with a gastro health doctor and now I have to go to the hospital to get several tests done.

Blood tests, a stomach x-ray a colonoscopy, and an endoscopy just to begin with. The doctor thinks it may be my pancreas so I need to have the tests done. She wants me to do it through ( Read more... )

It's been a busy week. Steve and I went to the Hand Eye hospital to see a specialist about the Dupuytren's contracture in both his hands. The surgeon decided to wait to do surgery as it is in its very early stages. Steve has to go back in December to have his hands checked again.

Steve finally had the last of his dental work done. Another tooth extraction and four fillings. He is now waiting on his top and bottom dentures. Hopefully, it won't take too long.

He has also had the EEC done and there are no signs of seizures or tumours, thank god) but it now means more tests. We think it's just the Dystonia but you never know.

I just found out that my father is really starting to fail now. He was in the hospital on Wednesday where the doctors told my stepmother that his kidneys are no longer working and he is slowly dying. They have started palliative care and are making him as comfortable as possible ( Read more... )
