i'd have to say laura ingalls.  i always had (and still have) an obsession with the books and the show.  something about the simpleness of life.  living among nature, without all the distractions of the current time.
i am currently reading the series to hanna each night before we go to bed.  we're on farmer boy right now.

i'm sick.  i feel like crap.  my whole body hurts.  there will be no need of a flu shot for me this year.

and the worst part?  hanna is singing at church today, and i'm too sick to be there.  i tried, i really did.  i got up, got the kids clothes out, and went to get ready myself.  i brushed my teeth, did my hair, and put on some jeans and a shirt ( Read more... )

we're all sick.  and by "all" i mean me and the girls.  hubby doesn't count.  hanna began on sunday morning with fever and achy joints.  she stayed home yesterday with fever still.  aimee went to preschool.  they called me about 3:30 to come get her, she had a fever.  i started getting a headache yesterday around noon.  by 6pm, i was sound asleep ( Read more... )

after over a year of battling the public school system, and fighting for my child who missed the birthday cut-off by 21 days, hanna's school district finally decided that her scores, her abilities, her maturity, her ability to learn new things so quickly (and oh, did i mention her iq that rates in the highly gifted range?)
