This past Thursday I took my dog, Rosalie, to the vet for a mysterious lump under her skin on her neck.  When we left I had to deal with some of the worst news for a pet owner.  That news was confirmed today.  She has lyphoma.  I've been a crying wreak since.  The thing is she was fine, completely fine, behavior wise. Found out what has been wrong with my dog, Rosalie. :) It wasn't her GI tract, but her back! She started having a hard time getting her feet under her or even just taking her weight on her back legs when she stood up. I took her back to the vet, and she did a very good demonstration of her difficulty getting up on her feet for us. So Mr. Vet ( Read more... )

My dog is acting odd again.  I thought she was over it, but she's still acting shaky, lying down alot, and doesn't eat much.  It is very frustrating trying to get her to eat while the other dog is trying to steal her food.  Sometimes she's on her feet and acting ok, other times she's whiney, lying down, being all scared and shaky.  I have no ideal ( Read more... )

I took my dogs to the vet last week. They got their rabies vaccines and some flu shots. Now Rosalie is acting sick. Yesterday she was acting all scared and whiney too, but someone was shooting in the neighborhood so I attributed her actions to that. Neither of my dogs like the sound of gunfire. It has been discovered that my father has little to no intention of giving up the land he promised for me to build my home on.  It has also come to my attention that if I ever did get it and build my home that he would still use it (drive his tractors over it, spray poison, mow down everything) as if it was his own and not mine.  So ... It took 8 hours to drive home after my 7-11 shift at the hospital Friday.  By home I mean back to my parents house for spring break.   Usually its just a 6 hour drive, but I hit Austin in rush hour traffic and it just got worse the further north I went.  I hate stop and go traffic.  Today I woke up,  missed out on coffee but fried some eggs for ( Read more... )

Jacob, my 2 1/2 year old nephew escaped from the house this morning sending us scurrying around the farm looking for him.  I found him out by the boar pen... luckily we got rid of the last hogs two weeks ago.  He was sitting on a log wearing my ballet flats.

         My car now has a name, Blue Bandit.  :)  My younger sister, who has never even heard of the movie "The Fall", suggested it.   Her car is Almond colored (it even says so on the paperwork) and i've named it Almond Joy just to tick her off.  She's still thinking of a name for her's.
