Phantom of the Opera excerpt (1)

Then I heard a faint splashing sound in the darkness and saw two golden eyes shining like beacons, and soon the boat landed. Erik leapt out of it and came to me.

"You've been here for twenty-four hours," he said. "You're bothering me, and I warn you that this is going to end badly. And you'll have brought it on yourself, because I've been prodigiously patient with you. You think you've been following me, you immense simpleton, but I've been following you, and I know everything you know about me here. I spared you yesterday, in my Communards' passage, but listen to me carefully: Don't let me find you there again! You've been behaving very recklessly and I wonder if you still know how to take a hint!" --pg.216

I imagine him silently getting out of the boat and then spouting all of this with his index finger jabbing into the Persian's chest every few seconds. XD "Prodigiously patient".

I ditched the idea of reviewing every chapter, but I may just find myself quoting bits. Erik really knows how to steal a scene.
