Kind of hate my local theaters. Sometime in the last 48 hours, they FINALLY posted their showtimes for Clone Wars. I'd resigned myself to the belief that no one in my area was doing a 12:01 showing.
And I look today, at the listings for the multiplex down the street from me... there's a 12:01 showing tonight.
*headdesk*
For a while, I debated. The only person within decent driving distance who might be willing to see a new SW animated movie with me is my sister, and she's already going with me tomorrow (and isn't nearly as excited as me), and this is WAY too short a notice for her. And man, I'd be in lousy shape for work tomorrow.
But in the end... a couple of minutes ago, I bought my ticket. :)
Sure, I'll be by myself. Sure, I'll be cranky as hell in the morning (I usually am anyway). But I'm hoping the crowd experience will make the first point irrelevant, and I'll only be tired one day. I'll have the memory of a Star Wars midnight showing for a much longer time - the midnight showings for AOTC and ROTS were probably the best moviegoing experiences of my life (or damn near). And this will probably be my last chance to ever do a SW midnight showing.
*is pumped*
ETA: Okay, I'm even more glad I'm doing this now because...
what the fuck, Warner Bros.? Well, I guess the lack of a teaser trailer until recently makes more sense now. :P
ETA #2:
zorb just made an excellent point, at least for those going to
azkatraz next year... this new release date is just in time for Azkatraz t00bage of epic proportions! This makes the news suck a little less, but I was actually looking forward to seeing it in November. At least I still have the Coldplay concert to look forward to that month...
ETA #3: SQUEE!! Two more hours to go! :D
