Women's gymnastics
Man, that was the coldest shoulder the women's coach just gave that poor girl who fumbled her floor exercise - and probably just cost us the gold medal.
I've seen it said that when the one of the men's gymnasts fumbles, the teammates don't seem to hold it as much against them as the girls do... that does seem to be the case. Even when two of our guys absolutely bombed the pommel horse, the teammates looked amazingly supportive and seemed to show a genuine camaraderie. Of course, our girls are coming from a much different vantage point: the guys weren't favored to medal at all, whereas the girls had a real, clear shot at snagging the gold from China.
And man, are we having trouble with stepping out-of-bounds, or what?
- Dude, China is NAILING these floor exercises. They're making it look so effortless and fun, whereas with Team USA, while not bad, there was definitely a all-work-and-no-play vibe.
