To counter the wank of the last post...
I've been toying with the idea of dressing up for Halloween, most likely as a Hogwarts student. Halloween falls on a Tuesday at work and the rules here discourage the customer service employees (such as moi) from coming to work in costume, but I figure a modified Hogwarts uniform - minus the robes of course (and dark pants in place of the skirt, which is too short for my workplace) - is neutral enough to get around the drawback in the dress code. *g* After all, all most of the customers would be seeing anyway would be the cute sweater and tie; it's not like I'd have fairy wings or a monster mask or something distracting like that. ;)
The dilemma would be whether to come as Hermione or Luna. Originally I'd thought Hermione, since she's long been the HP character I most identify with and I've already got the brown hair and Gryffindor scarf (though I probably wouldn't be wearing the scarf at work, heh). But right now my favorite female character is Luna, and I prefer Ravenclaw's colors to Gryffindor's (though the reds in Gryffindor's probably suit me a little better). And I love the idea of wearing radish earrings, if I could find them. ;) Thing is, my hair's really too dark for Luna and she wouldn't be recognizable to anyone who'd only seen the movies. And the radish earrings might be hard to find, not to mention crossing the line as far as my work dress code. ;) I guess my best bet would be poking around crafts stores.
So... Hermione or Luna? I'd just get both sweaters/ties, but I'm strapped financially this month. Hmm. Decisions, decisions.
If nothing else, I'll just chicken out completely and wear my Gryffindor tee to work that Tuesday. *g*
ETA: Or, I'll bypass Harry Potter completely and just come as Three-Hole-Punch LA. ;) (Yay, The Office!)
Wah, I'm hungry. Chick-Fil-A for lunch... :)
