Kono Rocks at Interrogation and Life and Adopts a Dog: Hawaii 5-0 1x05

So, I had a sucky Monday, but lucky for me, there was a brand new Hawaii Five-0 tonight to cheer me up! :)

So, Kono pretty much rocked this ep, as usual. I loved her showing off to the guys (notice the impressed looks they give her several times throughout the episode? Chin especially seems to be paying close attention. He's impressed, too, and proud, but I also think he's watching to make sure she doesn't get cocky. Was it just me or did she get those guys in the end before he did?). I am hoping though that she won't end up getting herself into trouble because she's overconfident. I so loved her interrogation scene. It was funny, clever, and didn't veer into the wildly unconventional/torture the way Steve's usually do. As previously mentioned, I really loved the guys' looks when she snatched the dog and chased them out. And then she came out cuddling the dog and told them all how she had got the lady to crack and spill the beans. Then the "What?" So adorable.

Danno didn't get much screen time again this week, but he made use of every moment. I was especially glad to see him be put to work watching the monitors. Very important work for the guy who's temporarily out of firefights! I loved him saying "That one I actually didn't mind." and poking the guy with his cane. :-D I was kind of surprised we didn't have more of Danny thinking about Grace--i.e. I can't imagine how you must feel. If something happened to my Grace... Even his comment about the guy slipping roofies was a generic "If she were my daughter..." I do think the show was trying out subtle this episode (see comment further down about the governor), so kudos to them.

I'm not really sure what to think of Mary. She's ok, but it feels like the character is finding her footing a little. I'm kind of wondering if the house is going to get a little crowded, if both siblings start bringing around their lovers. I'm hoping her photographing everything in the toolbox doesn't cause trouble. I wouldn't mind seeing the siblings working together to solve their dad's case.

I loved the coroner! Seriously. Definitely my favorite recurring (I assume he will recur, anyway) character so far.

I have to say that having a creepy old lady run a prostitution ring was a nice twist.

Am I the only person who thinks Robin and/or Amanda were the governor's daughters? Something about them both being blond (although that could be dye jobs) and her slightly over-the-top reaction to what happened to them. No? Just me, then.

I'm looking forward to next week. Hoping for lots of Team/Kono love!
