Okay i am officially exhausted of interviewings. I'm almost tempted to just go to the coffee shop below my block and scream 'HIRE ME' at the western food store and just be done with it! Blah! Actually i think i'm just super pissed at today's interview. Okay, lemme recall yst one first.
I had an interview at Tanjong Pagar yst with Jeregon International. Luckily, despite the vague directions given, i still managed to find the place without hassel. I did arrive like 40 mins earlier so i was basically wasting my time loitering around the nearby areas, in frigging hot weather! I couldn't wear my jacket, i was practically soaking it in sweat. Haha imagine me in a tank top and working slacks loitering around some hawker centre area. The area the office was located didn't have any cafes near it! Ahhhh i was sooo dying for a nice ice cold glass of coffee but there were only food stores, bars, loads of bridal boutiques and other weird shops. My only salvation was the 7-11 store where i was THANKFULLY able to buy a nice cold can of caffine. Mmmmm!
So after wasting like another 25 mins or so, i finally changed my shoes, button up my jacket and head up to the office on the second floor. It's pretty small and erm...shabby looking frankly. But there were already a few girls waiting. In fact, it turns out there were 3 other girls interviewing for this job with me. LOL! On tues it was all boys, then on weds all girls. But it was a relatively casual interview i must say. We were even given a problem to solve and had to brainstorm it. Haha! The interviewer was relaxed and friendly and i admit, i prefer group interviews to 1 on 1. That way the attention won't be ALL FOCUSED on me!
Some of the girls shocked me tho. One of the girl, an indonesian, wore open toe flip-flop looking heels and slouching alot and i tot it was kinda inappropriate. Another girl, from NTU, seemed to have much more PT work experiences than me but the way she answered qns was HORRIBLE! I dun mean to sound like a bitch but, when the guy asks you what leadership positions you had in school, do you answered that you were a MONITRESS in PRIMARY SCHOOL? Like zomg! Even i noe that's a stoopid ans. Just fake something if you dun have! Said you were in your CCA committee club, or were project leader or stg. Omg!! And she ermed and ahhed quite alot. *headdesk*
Then the last girl, she's pretty ok. We clicked well during the brainstorming session, but i admire her bravery in having dark bronze nail polish there. Haha guess i'm just a picky cow! Wow, as for me, haha some of my answers sounds kinda stoopid and stuff but i did my best. You can't fault my wearing man! I took the effort to dress like some old business woman! Haha man i look weird!
As for today's interview, it's also at Tanjong Pagar but this time in the Fuji Xerox building. At first, i was impressed. The place looks nice and so business looking. With lots of office ppl and air con and security and even a coffee bean there! But the damn thing is, the job ad deceived me. The position "Sales and Marketing Exec" and job description i read online was totally deceiving! It gave me the impression it was more of a marketing base position but when i got there(they made me wait one frigging hour dammit, i was mad enuf for that!) it turns out it's not that much different from a financial consultant! Meaning i have to sell insurance and stuff! The diff is that there is a managerial opportunity! BUT I HATE INSURANCE! I DUN LIKE IT WHEN PPL APPROACH ME TO BUY INSURANCE, SO THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL I'M GONNA SELL THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARGHHHH waste my bloody time there! So frigging pissed off! I was bored out of my mind as the guy droned on in his monotonous tone abt the career path and commissions of the job(like i care!) and it was all i could do just to keep a plastic smile on my face and pretending to look interested! My god, gag me! Then he seemed so eager to get me in for a second round interview, when i barely spoke at all(me 20%, him 80%). Nope, not happening man. Hmmm why so eager when it wasn't really much of an interview? Is it cos i have a degree? Pardon me if i'm stereotyping.
The one bright spot of the day is my collection of my graduation gown in the afternoon. WOOT! I finally tried on the hat or whatever you guys call that square thing. I noe there's a name for it but i just can't remember. Hehehehe graduating is fun! Wearing the robe makes me feel so harry potter-ish. "CRUCIO"!!!!!!!!!! ^_^
Oh and i got a second call back from Dreamworks Advertising tml. ~Sigh~ that will make it 5 interviews this week. You see why i'm kinda sick of them? But tml's one will be more intense and 1 on 1 with the managing director. For 2 to 3 hours they tell me. Yikes! So scary! What will they ask me??? Most of the group one lasts like 30 mins to 1 hour. What the heck could i say in 2 hours or more??? *weeps*
