Holy crabstick, why of all weeks must THIS week be so busy for me? I'm having my japanese test this sun and i was hoping that i could have the whole week to fully prepare for it, and i get calls for interviews left and right. Not that i dun wan the interviews but dammit where were they last week when i was practically rotting at home? Or why couldn't they do it next week when i'm really free.
~Sigh~ I just got another 2 calls for interviews, tml and on thurs and both are in the tanjong pagar area. So effing far and i'm not at all familiar with that area so probably have to arrive early to scout for the locations. *wails* I'm soo pooped from today's interviews, and i'm probably gonna be pooped for the rest as well, so i hope that i will have enuf energy (and discipline) to study for my exam at night.
Okay lemme give a brief overview of today's interview cos it went sorta crazy at some point. Firstly, i went for my Good Job Creation agency interview at Novena. This wasn't too nerve-wrecking because it's just an agency interview, not a real company yet. But the thing is, after the HR person (Fiona) greeted me and told me to fill out an application form, she told me the JAPANESE manager will be coming to speak to me to see my level of japanese. I was like WTHHHHHHHHHH MY JAPANESE SUCKS! Even tho i've been learning for awhile now, i have very very very very little practise in conversation. Holy cow, it went soooooo bad. The lady uses BUSINESS type japanese! Very polite and different from the conversation type i learnt. I could only catch certain key words and most of the time i had to guess her qn. Hahaha only the simple ones like name, age and school i can ans. Otherwise, i mostly replied to her in english and apologize like mad. YAHHHHHH so pai seh!!
Luckily she left the rest of the interview back to Fiona who was super nice and friendly, so i hope that i could have the opportunity to work in a japanese firm. She did intro me one firm which is a japanese automotive company, but the position is prob entry level sales coordinator type. I'm not so sure if i'm interested or not, altho i supposed it wouldn't hurt to just send the resume in ya. Not as if with my level of japanese i could do much. LOL!
Then i had lunch at Novena's Mos Burger and a nice oreo cookie frappe as a treat for myself at TCC. Thank goodness i decided to eat there because there's nothing much in terms of cafe at Chinatown, which was my next destination. My second interview, i had a hard time finding the place. Firstly, it was raining which made everything shitty cos i got a tad wet. Then i went in the wrong direction and luckily they called and i had to look and walk around for abit before finding the place. It's called Dreamworks Advertising. No not the movie Dreamwork, hahaha i wish man!
It's a small office located on the second floor in one of those shop houses area but thank goodness for the air-con! And i had to fill out my application AGAIN (muahaha i even bought double sided tape in case i had to stick my photo on some form) and they gave me an article to read. That freaked me out cos the article was on what is the best and worst form of afvertising in terms of ROI and it gave statistics and figures and i was like WAHHHH are they gonna quizzed us on this or what. Wow i was in panic mode man. So i re-read that damn article like 3 or 4 times just to try and digest it. And the thing, is there were other applicants coming in but all of them were guys! I was like, where are the girls man?? Why am i the only one among all the white shirts and black pants? **Stressed**
So the interview was with me and another guy together. The lady asked both of us qns and he went first before me. I swear she gave him the easy questions!!!!! Like what do you like to do, how are you used to rejections, how do you motivate ppl etc. When she asked him all these, i could think up of answers in an instance. But my questions were so textbook case! What is your definiton of success? What do you think makes a good leader? Wahhhh i hate these qn!! Ask me abt my hobby dammit! LOL!
All in all i answered some well and some not so well. Ugh i definitely made a mistake with one qn but can't cry over it now. ^_^ I was sooo thankful to go home man. Imagine me carry this bag which was bursting at the seam because i had stuff an extra pair of comfy shoes in cos i KNOW i couldn't survive the whole day wearing my covered shoe. I would LIMP AND DIE! No joke!
So sweating like a pig, changing shoes just outside the offices, and trying not to sound like a moron answering qns. I. am. so. tired. Still have 2 more interviews to go and my test...........::wheezeeeee::
