Runnin shoez! I haz them! and other ramblinz

Ok I have purchased my fabulously comfy and perfect for me running shoes! I so excited! I spent part of Mother's Day in Annapolis all by myself at Fleet Feet to get fitted. I ended up buying a pair of Brooks with an arch support insert to assist with a very slight pronation. So now the next two steps are 1) break in my new running shoes prior to my first run. The girl that fit me stated it would be best to walk around in the shoes for a few hours to break them in. 2) download the podcasts for the 6 week plan. I am hoping to start next week on this. I am waiting til after M friend J heads home. He has been staying with us since last Sunday while his Mom is on travel for two weeks. M isloving it, I am just tired... Anyway, I plan on starting then. I am looking forward to it. I also have some other fitness things that I am working on as well. It just seems like TKD isn't as intense of a workout as it used to be for me. Funny I was talking with Chuck about it and he is feeling the same way. Not sure if we are just used to the work out and need to add that extra punch or what. He and I tested at the same time for our BB. I wonder if Super Dave is having the same thought/issue. Neither of us plans on stepping away from TKD, I still enjoy it immensly and plan to continue on to higher degrees. I also would like to assist in teaching. I was working with one of the brown belts last week and it is just so cool when you explain something and you can see it click in their minds. I am planning to take the BB class tomorrow night. I should be able to make it since I should be getting off work around 4 tomorrow.

I am attending an awards ceremony tomorrow afternoon with the Finnish Program. One of the big guys is coming in from Finland to give the Finnish F-18 program an award for excellent work. My presence has been requested since I worked the program for 10 years. They want to make sure that those who were an integral part of the program be there for the award. I was actually surprised they asked me to be there, I have not worked the program for nearly a year now. I still get calls for help now and then from the girls, but for the most part they just call to keep in touch now. I will admit that I do miss that program a lot. At least I get to see them since we all work together in Cube hell. I do miss my office with its window and door that actually shut! Sacrifices...

I seem to be making a difference with the Australian program now. Its weird to know that next week I will be hosting the Australian Financial Managers in meetings all week. The guys are coming to me for help with their issues and they are no longer making decisions financially without my input. Boy it took forever for them to learn that! So the Aussies are coming here next week, then I head up the Embassy in June for meetings, and then July is Roll Out in St. Louis! I still cant believe it is so close! I wish I could bring my Dad out for it. He would love to see that! Hmmm wonder if I could make that go? I will have to talk to my Boss, he had said Tom could go as long we paid for him and not the case (of course we would pay for him to go). Anyway, the next few months are super busy for this financial manager. Who am I kidding...I'm always busy there!

M's Lacrosse season is almost complete. The last weekend in May is the final game. They have a big tournament this weekend, then Memorial day weekend off, and then a final game May 30th. He still loves it and it seems that J has been bitten by it while going to the games with us this past weekend. Coach has played him in all positions except goalie. Tom and I have figured out some of his eye-to-ball contact issues. Poor kid has my vision. So we are heading to the eye doctor again to have his vision checked. Last time doc said he only needed to wear his glasses for school, but we think he needs them full time now. Other than that he is doing very well.

Not too much else going on. Got this huge project idea brewing...I drew a small template out the other day and if it goes well, it will look spectacular. I only hope I can get it done before Sapphire.

Nite!
