Weary
I think I slept 11 or 12 hrs over the last 24. I seem to be doing that on most weekends when I don't have anything planned out and about. There's just a complete feeling of exhaustion by Thurs night that I barely get rid of by Mon morning. The pain in my back and arm cannot be helping matters at all. (I'm thinking like Master Robinton: "One didn't fully appreciate the absence of pain") I'm starting to wonder if the pain in my outer elbow is referred pain from my back/shoulder. It is one of the trigger points listed in the book for sending pain down the arm. It just feels different than usual (20-odd yrs experience), and it's not going down into my pinky like it does when my elbow hurts this bad.
I could really use a week-long cruise and lots of use of their hot tub. Maybe I'll heat up some rocks and have K lay them on the sore spots. The hot rock massage I had on Golden Princess was quite nice. Gotta get the back yard done and get one of those little hot tubs to soak in... Daily!
I got to spend a "lovely" hour or two in urgent care Thurs night. My right eye had been bothering me since Tue night and I thought I'd had something in it or scratched it, but when it wasn't any better by Thurs, I knew it was something else. The base couldn't get me an appt on Thurs and said call back on Fri to see if they had any openings. I asked for a nurse to call me with any suggestions, but didn't hear from her until after 5 when I was on my way home. She listened to my symptoms and decided I had an infection and said I should go to urgent care and get some AB drops. Fun. The nurse did a vision test and I couldn't see anything at 20/20 even with my glasses on. Hmmm. The Dr I finally saw didn't really examine my eye, just listened to my hx and took a look (w/out touching) from about 3' away! The TobraDex seemed to be working great until yesterday when the pain started coming back. I wonder if there is something lodged in there and I just can't see it? Gah! There is still a reddish area where the pain originally started.
Such strange dreams last night! K and I were in England--somehow. Trying to catch a bus back to our B&B but they wouldn't let me on because my crutches were made of hand saws ( ! ) We had been looking around where some jazz singer was born. (?) Jump ahead after a bathroom trip and we're driving along a road with woods on either side. From the road you can see ruins of old manor houses and I see one with a nice fireplace and a mirror. We stop and start looking around and end up in a palace with the same fireplace and mirror. As we're looking around, we see this great dining room table that has cushions on the seats that have beads and carvings hanging from them like Xmas ornaments. These are the Queen's corgis over the years that she's had made to remember them by. Cool! Let's go shopping to the place and get some made! When we come back, we're seated to dine with friends at said table. We were all (lg group of people I knew there but now have no idea who they are) escorted downstairs where we were met by the Queen where she talked to us like we were old friends. She walked out with us and showed us her favorite shops for special "dog mementos" and I ordered something for Muffin. Then the store called saying they couldn't follow through on the order.... I can't remember why now. They were very nice I do remember.
