I saw the first part of Mockingjay over the weekend. The melody in the movie for The Hanging Tree was haunting, but the one thought up for this fan film made almost two years ago is equally so. I love this father-daughter teaching moment. The actors could have both been darker of hair, but that's a minor quibble.  Enjoy, everyone.

I saw A Late Quartet with my aunt yesterday. Christopher Walken plays a cellist in a world-renowned string quartet. Said cellist is getting on in years. The quartet is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary season when he is diagnosed with the early stages of Parkinson's. Walken nails this to the point that I wondered whether he has it for real. My aunt had really gotten into The Hunger Games movie, to the point that she turned to me toward the end and said in Spanish, "Please tell me that these two will survive."  I was not sure myself, but I had a hunch, from what I could tell of this interpretation of Katniss.
