The advertising execs at Cover Girl have a
puzzling ad campaign this fall. They've got a product tie-in to the upcoming movie Catching Fire with a Capitol (their spelling, not mine) line of cosmetics. Lots of glitter and glow are involved, with colors usually not found in nature or outside of an exotic orchid house. I have no problem with the make-up itself, though it's not my speed. But here's the sticking point: Not only did they use the wrong word (unless they are really referring to a legislative building), they're using the putative "bad guys" of the film, the decadent citizens of the Capital, as a marketing tool.
I will say this, though: The dresses I'm seeing in the clips make contemporary quinces look like Quaker meetings.
