I'm listening to music from the Ragtime soundtrack right now. What an amazing AMAZING show.

It's being put on at the Regents Park open-air theatre this...May I think, and I am SO going.

I don't feel like working right now, but at the same time I feel as though I ought to be doing something productive...sooo I thought Lj was an acceptable compromise ^_^

Just reading back over what I reported on last time for some inspiration... I have my latest fitness stats, if anyone is interested! I can feel the exciting building! haha

So, my goals were: Improved overall fitness, body fat % reduction, improved everyday strength and energy, and increased metabolic rate.

I started with personal training session 2x per week, and one on my own. I've now switched to PT once per week and two on my own. My trainer is this TOTALLY awesome british guy, from up north, so he sometimes comes out with these funny sayings (just like my housemate, he calls everything he can't remember the name of a 'badger', so sometimes conversations will go "ok I've just got to go grab some weights for you, hop on the badger and start jogging" Love it!)

So, on Monday, Oct31st 2011 my stats were:
Body fat % _______39.1
Total weight kg____65.3
Water % _________45.1
Metabolic age_____43
Lean weight kg____37.7

At my next test on Jan 12 2012 they were:
Body fat %_______37.6
Total weight kg___65.0
Water %_________46.2
Metabolic age____41
Lean weight kg___38.7

Aaaand at my most recent test on Feb 12 they were:
Body fat %________33.5
Total weight kg____63.3
Water %__________50.6
Metabolic age_____37
Lean weight kg____41

So that was pretty exciting! Also as part of the test I do squats, push ups and the plank (which I hate!) and this time around I could hold the plank for 48 seconds.....! At the first test I could hold it for FOURTEEN seconds! It was amazing!

So generally I'm feeling much healthier and energetic again, which is very nice.

I still hate running, but I'm at least able to do it now. I was really hoping I would tip over into that realm of crazy people who actually enjoy it...but it hasn't happened yet.... I'm starting to wonder if I will ever reach that stage =( but just knowing that I can run 2km non-stop feels pretty neat. An interesting side effect is that I actually feel more comfortable walking home alone at night because of it.

In other news, it is now within three months of the wedding, which means I can submit our Notice of Intended Marriage form, get our marriage liscense, and finally book in our wedding at the Registrars office! Everything else is all booked in, although we still have to pick a menu for the reception (woo buffet!) and also find a photographer who isn't going to charge an arm and a leg. Apparently all the ones in Bermuda are jerks! Leaning much more towards just asking a friend.

I am still putting the finishing touches on my dissertation, which I should really just FINISH this week once and for all so I don't have to think about it any more! We'll see. Other little class projects keep cropping up, but a few determined days of working in the library should get it sorted.

So yeah, things and stuff!

I'm feeling a little more inspired, so maybe I'll go do some of this coursework ^_^
