Hey folks! Missed me?
I suppose I'll start off with my semi-annual Christmas loot list. :D
So what did I get? Before I start, I'll say this: this was by far the best Christmas I've had. I mean, yeah, when you're a little kid you're so full of excitement that you're literally going to burst if you don't get to open your presents before 7am, and then you play with your shiny new stuff until you pass out on the living room rug. No no, this year was absolutely fantastic because the stuff I did get was absolutely perfect, and I didn't really actually have a proper Christmas list so it was all a surprise. So then, let's get down to what I got:
-An NCIS officially licensed farting Bert the Hippo :D
-3-Iron (Korean movie)
-Giftcards to H&M and New York & Co.
-A "secret box" (the lock is hidden, see? So you can put secret stuff in!)
-Epic Mickey
-A brand-new shiny candy-apple red Wii, with:
-A red Wiimote and Chuck
-Wii Sports
-The New Super Mario Brothers
-A hand-knit squishy scarf
-A Swarovsky crystal heart necklace ♥
The biggest present, of course, was the fact that Tatsuya was there (still is, actually - right next to me ♥), but I didn't think it would be quite right to call him loot. (^^;
Now I could have sworn I'd done this more than once, but apparently not: seeing as it's the end of the year and all, let's compare and contrast Ashley, 2007 versus 2010!
1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
I went to university in Japan, if that counts (though I technically started in '09, so...)
Uhh...I fell head over heels?
I forgot how to speak/write English? :D
2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
The Kerryness did.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
Japan! :D
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Money. T-T
7. What dates from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
July 28th, when I finally started going steady with my Tatsuya <3
New Years 2010, when I finally got myself to Hiroshima.
August 2nd 2010, when I had to leave Japan.
Christmas 2010 - the best ever.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Finally joining a dance team!!!!
And finally feeling true emotion <3
Ooh, and losing over 20 pounds.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not keeping all of those 20+ pounds off T-T
Failing/dropping out of intro to Biology
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a really horrible mosquito bite. I'm not even kidding! The sucker stayed around for like 2 months! I think I still have the scar.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I got myself 4 pairs of knee socks that FIT. :D
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
What, in the media? Please, I don't watch tv. I'll just go with Mizushima Hiro for marrying Ayaka in spite of her being ill.
13. Whose behavior appalled you?
I'm still appalled by Kate of (John and) Kate Plus 8... I know this isn't anywhere near recent knews but she really makes me want to make tests for parenthood standardized.
Also the entire TLC network, for that matter - Kate Plus 8? Toddlers & Tiaras? A guy yelling at people for failing at making cakes?
14. Where did most of your money go?
Well, most recently, on peripherals for my Wii. >_>
Otherwise socks and school supplies.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Tatsuya is here <3 Next to me <3 in Pittsburgh <3 Sleeping (^o^)
Also starting to (casually) date Tatsuya back in June...
Also joining Sarara and going to Hokkaido...and placing!
Also getting a farting hippo for Christmas XD
Also getting a really nice piece of jewelry for Christmas <3

a) happier or sadder? Much, MUCH happier.

Why didn't I go to that stupid tabehodai with Sarara? GAH I could've made so many friends so much earlier!

Pondered how I was gonna make 14 gyoza last the week >_>

At gram's, firmly planted next to Tatsuya.

I really liked Natsu no Koi ha Niji-iro ni Kagayaku...shame I didn't get to watch all of it.

Not "hate." Just, "don't like anymore."

Lizard, by Banana Yoshimoto.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
GreeeeN is so good...hip-hop, pop, dance, rock, ballads...they can do no wrong.

I wanted Tatsuya. And here he is. :D
Also a Wii, but I wasn't gonna ask for one - expensive and all - but here it is! Yay!
27. What did you want and not get?
Nothing. Wow :D
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Inception was really good, as was Toy Story 3. And I think those are the only two movies of the year that I actually saw.

I turned 21 this year...and instead of getting unbelievably drunk, I went out with my family and had one drink. :/
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Ending my previous relationship 3+ months earlier.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
"Cute and stylish." As compared to other years, anyway!
32. What kept you sane?
Candy. CANDY. Mochi, mochi, and more mochi...and ramune candy. And pocky.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Oh, dear.....Mizushima Hiro...Oguri Shun...Ikuta Toma...etc, etc, etc...
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
I do my best to stay the hell out of politics.
35. Who did you miss?
I missed my brother. And then I came home! And I still see him like once a month. :/
36. Who was the best new person you met?
Well, I technically "met" him in '09...but we didn't get around to actually hanging out until June of '10, so, Tatsuya! :D
Also, all my new dormies were pretty amazing. So I'll say Ivan, Joanna, Megan, Ella...
