People Run In Circles, It's a Very Very Mad World...

Today seemed to start out fine but I should have known better from the look of those clouds.

I woke up at 9, and took my car for bi-yearly emissions test. It passed. Yay, good job String Bean!!! Er. That's my car's name. The String Bean. He rocks...yeah, it's a he. Shhh.

So...cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned some more. Felt accomplished.

Then I went downstairs to work on the part of the Deep Aqua Mirror that is teal and has the Neptune symbol on it. I went in my dad's workshop and sanded a round piece of styrofoam into the appropriate shape to glue to the back of the mirror.

I was just sitting there using hand-held sandpaper to smooth the edges to prepare to paint it, when it started thundering.

A few moments after that, I heard a large thud upstairs.

I ran up to see what was the matter, and saw Quest sprawled out onto the floor, panting and flipping out. I helped him get into a regular laying-down position and sat with him and told him the thunder couldn't hurt him. He never used to be afraid of storms. Every year older he gets, he gains some weird new quirck he hadn't had before.

A little bit later I was able to calm him, and he needed to go outside to potty. So, I took him out. He went ahead outside and did his business, and I kept an eye on him because my parents said they heard him fall at around 4AM this morning and wasn't able to stand on his own. He seemed allright...

Then he started walking, and fell on the ground. As I ran out to the yard to get him, he tried and tried to keep forcing himself to his feet. He kept stumbling closer and closer to the woods. I kept telling him to turn around and I would try to help him to the house, but he wouldn't listen. He just kept going towards the woods. We made it to Sable's gravemarker, where he finally stopped attempting to get up.

Both of my parents were at work, and there was no way I was going to be able to lift this dog myself. To make matters worse, it was thundering and rain came down in what seemed like 5 pound drops.

I started crying because I just didn't know how to help him. I called my mom, and she told me she would try and get out of work early..until then, I just had to sit there with him in the yard. He seemed like he was in pain; I had never seen his mouth so widely agape before.

Anyhow...eventually she was able to come home and we were able to get him onto the back covered porch, which is where he is sitting right now. I'm worried...he was walking alright yesterday, and now suddenly today he can't even stand up? I just don't want him to be hurting...

I felt so helpless sitting there in that soggy yard with him. It was the longest hour ever.
