Title: Stray Cardboard Boxes (6/?)
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Romance/Comedy
Pairings: KyuHan. ShiHan.
Warnings: None.
Summary: Based on the manga, “Tramps Like Us.” It was one night of clumsiness that cost Geng a scuffed shoe and an accidental meeting with a runaway Kyuhyun. Generous and rather stupid, he takes the unconscious male in to tend to his wounds, and somewhere along the lines makes him his pet as well. It wasn't his fault that the younger reminded him of his own dog back at China.

The hard smacked on his ass forced him out of his sleep. He cursed and buried his head into his pillow before directing his vision to the side, catching the sight of his flamboyant friend.
“What the hell!? Heechul!?”
He groaned, refusing to get up as he listened to the snickering from his friend. “Yah! Hannie, you're stupid dog is sleeping in bed with you again?!”
Feeling the younger shift in bed, he pulled the blankets down, catching sight of a glare from Kyuhyun.
“Why is the ghost back, Geng? Tell it to go away.” Muttered the snarky male tiredly as he pulled the covers over his head.
“What!? Ghost!?” He sighed and shook his head at the two's antics. “He didn't mean it that way, Heechul.”
“Yes, I meant it that way and it should be a crime to see something so indescribably hideous in the morning. Did the police try to arrest you on your way here?”
“Tell it to shut up!”
“Tell him to shut his face first.”
He was fully wide awake when Heechul had thrown himself onto the bed, lunging at Kyuhyun.
_
“Tell me why we're out and why is he here?”
Geng sighed softly as he watched Kyuhyun's back from afar, the youngest deciding to walk ahead of him. “Because I can't stand staying in my apartment all day long and he wanted to come.”
“Whatever. Let's go to the park!” Heechul declared as he grabbed the younger by the arm, marching towards the park that was just close by.
_
The park was relatively empty that morning, despite it being a Saturday. It was most likely that the parents weren't even awake yet and the kids were preoccupying themselves with Saturday morning cartoons.
Once seated at the wooden bench, Heechul turned to Geng, a slow smile on his features. The Chinese man blinked and leaned back, knowing where Heechul was going with this.
“Hannie, get us some ice cream please. Any kind is fine.” The flamboyant male said with a grin towhich the younger merely sighed and nodded, standing up.
There was no ice cream stand in sight, meaning the poor man had to exit the park and buy the ones from across the street.
Making sure the Chinese male was out of earshot, he averted his gaze to the youngest.
“You!”
Kyuhyun blinked, shooting Heechul a strange look. “What about me?”
The diva-like man cackled softly as he leaned closer to the male, watching him with amused eyes. “You like him, don't you? You like Hannie? You have feelings for him..”
His shoulders stiffened and he clenched his fist, yet making sure that his expression remained as neutral as possible. Although the slightest movement didn't go unnoticed by Heechul as the older man watched his prey.
“So what of it?”
“Nothing really. I just found it interesting. The homeless boy that Hannie takes in, makes a pet out of him, and cares for him suddenly develops feelings for his master. It's like a fairytale”
He frowned, irritated with the feminine man's response. “And your point?”
“Yah! Be quiet, kid! Kim Heechul always has a point!
“You mean, besides the one up your ass?”
“Shut up, kid! I'm here to give you some words of wisdom, since you can't seem to get your point across Hannie's ass.”
Kyuhyun scowled and crossed his arms, disliking the smirk on Heechul's face.
“Now as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. You like Hannie, but Hannie already has the big, buff Siwon, who I'm sure has a dick just as big!”
He paled at the thought, feeling himself get sick from Heechul's explicit commentary.
“Anyways, it seems like you, dog boy, is losing, but then again it was bound to happen. I mean, who could lose to that?”
The younger rolled his eyes before shooting the man a dirty look. “And why do you care?” He scoffed and leaned back onto the bench, arms crossed.
“Oh, don't flatter yourself. I don't care about you, I care about Hannie. The guy doesn't know that he's sex on legs, especially when he's modest too. That's like..A total turn on for guys like Siwon, and you could say, me. But anyways, I may not like you that much, but I believe in a fair game when it comes to love.”
He raised an eyebrow at the older male, not believing a word that Heechul was saying. The man didn't look like the type to play fair when it came to love.
“Hey, I never said anything about love.”
He was met by a finger wagging at him and that irritating know-it-all look that Heechul was directing towards him.
“Whatever you say, but anyways! I'll give you some tips on how to woo Hannie. I mean, the guy's gorgeous and all, but he's completely dense. He probably has it stuck in his mind that you're an actual dog, that or a bratty child.”
Intrigued, Kyuhyun leaned closer. “I'm listening.”
Heechul smirked, flipping his hair back. “Perfect.”

Much to Geng's relief, work was relatively mild that day. There were no early due dates for things to be done and everyone seemed to be just mucking around. He stepped out of his cubicle, deciding to go get some coffee. Just because they had nothing to do didn't mean he was allowed to sleep on the job, like what Donghae was currently doing.
The fishy male was dead asleep over his keyboard, drool poking out from the corner of his mouth.
Sungmin, Ryeowook, and Eunhyuk weren't to be found anywhere either.
Taking a step into the room, he wasn't alone as he caught the sight of a familiar backside.
“Oh, getting coffee too, Kibum?” Asked the Chinese man as he prepared some coffee for himself. He looked to the younger and smiled.
“That and some air.” The mysterious co-worker replied with an air of maturity around him. He smiled back, one of those cute, innocent, yet mysterious smiles that spelled 'Kibum' all over it.
“Anyways, I better be going now. Oh, and you have a little something there.” The younger leaned closer. He smiled at Geng, face barely a few centimeters apart as he plucked the thread from the male's collar.
“Just a piece of thread.” Kibum said softly before meeting Geng's eyes. “I'll see you around Geng.”
He stared back at the retreating figure. “Yeah..You too..”
Hearing the kettle whistle, he whipped his attentions back to the water. He poured the hot war into the cup, watching the water turn into a murky brown. It was just instant coffee, but it was better than nothing. It wasn't like he had the time to run down for some freshly brewed coffee at one of those coffee shops.
Geng was so focused on the coffee and the encounter with Kibum that he didn't notice strong arms wrapped around his waist. He jumped back, nearly spilling his coffee. Turning around, he caught sight of the dimpled smile and kind, warm eyes. Blushing furiously, he pointed a finger at the younger.
“Si-Siwon! Not at work!” He hissed softly, embarrassment written all over his face as he looked around for any signs of preying eyes. Seeing none, he relaxed his shoulders and grabbed his mug.
“I couldn't help myself. It was funny to see you get worked up like that. Plus, I like hugging you.” The younger man said sheepishly.
“You look pretty preoccupied for just making coffee. Was something on your mind?” Concern eyes were immediately upon him, followed by a small frown on that handsome face. Geng smiled at Siwon's caring nature, shaking his head gently.
“Not really. I was just talking to Kibum that's all.” He said with a shrug, taking a sip of his coffee.
Geng didn't catch the look of uneasiness flicker in Siwon's eyes. “Are you here to get coffee too?” The older asked with a relaxed smile.
“No, but it brings me to ask you. Do you want to have dinner tonight? Just you and me..I already booked a spot at this Italian restaurant..But we could have something else if you don't like Italian food. I mean, I didn't ask you properly to see if you're okay with it, I just thought it would be nice, but if you're busy tonight I completely understand.” He flashed a reassuring smile at the older.
Geng smiled back, nodding gently as he took it all in. He didn't have anything to do tonight, but he was looking forward to some quiet time with the tv and Kyuhyun, that and he also had to make the younger dinner too.
“Ah..Sure. That sounds nice.” The older nodded with a smile.
“Great. I'll see you after work then.” Siwon smiled, taking Geng's hand into his own.
Kyuhyun could survive one night without his cooking.
_
They had decided to stick to the Italian restaurant that Siwon had booked, simply because Geng was up for anything and he never had Italian food before. He opened the menu, unsure of what to get. The Chinese man just wanted to order one dish on every section. He looked up, seeing Siwon contemplate as well.
“You should choose for me. I never been to an Italian restaurant before.” He smiled and closed his menu. “Everything looks good. It makes me want to order from all the sections.”
“Well, we could do that if you like. Although I have to say I'll give up by the third plate.” Siwon replied, smiling softly as he looked back to the menu.
The waitress came by and took their orders and drinks before leaving with the menu. Watching the waitress go, Siwon turned to look at Geng. “I hope this isn't too fast for you. I'm happy that you said yes and I hope you're happy too. If you're not, we can take things much slower.” The younger said, waving his hands as he blabbed on.
Geng laughed at the gesture, shaking his head. “Ah, no. It's fine. The pace is good and I enjoy spending time with you. You're really great, Siwon.” He blushed and looked away, looking back as he felt the hand on his. He looked down, seeing the larger hand entwined with his. Looking up, he caught sight of bright brown eyes that radiated warmth.
“I'm happy.” The younger murmured softly as he stared intently at Geng.
They broke apart as the waitress came, setting their dishes on the table before leaving. Geng blinked and looked down at the large plate in front of him.
“I hope you like pasta. If you don't, I can get the exchanged for you.” Siwon said, furrowing his eyebrows in worried as he looked to the other. Geng smiled and shook his head, picking up the fork. “No, I just never had it before. This will be a new experience.” He said as he took a bite.
“It's good.” The older said as he dug in for more, eating at a rather rapid taste that could scare anyone off. Fortunately for him, Siwon was more amused at the child-like personality that the male had than the fact that Geng was cleaning his plate a little too fast for human speed.
“You're cute.” He murmured softly, abandoning his own food as he watched the older eat.
“Hm?” Pausing to look up, he tilted his head to the side, holding the fork to his lips. “Huh? Did you say something?”
Siwon grinned before breaking into a soft laugh.
Confusion written all over his face, Geng looked to the younger. “What? What's so funny?”
He pouted softly as he got no answer in return.

Loud grumbling could be heard from the quiet room as he laid haphazardly on the bed. He groaned, burying his face into the soft round orange butt of the bear as one hand clutched his agitated stomach.
“Where the hell is he?” The snarky male murmured as he laid flat on his stomach, waiting for his owner to come home. Hearing the doorbell ring, he sighed in relief and got up, taking the Pooh bear with him. “Finally.” Kyuhyun murmured softly as he trekked out of the bedroom. He had been laying in Geng's bed as usual. It wasn't like the other knew what he did when he was away.
“Coming. Coming.”
Unlocking the door, he yanked it open, expecting to see the tall, slender man. He blinked, and stared down at the young, short kid with chubby cheeks that was staring back at him. Kyuhyun slammed the door and walked away.
Hearing the doorbell ring again, he sighed softly, and swung the door open. “Look, I think you got the wrong door. I'm not interested in what you have to sell and if it's your body, no thanks.”
He crossed his arms, hugging the bear to his chest as he stared in aggravation at the boy. “What? Leave.” The boy stared back, a frown settling on his face as he looked at Kyuhyun.
“I can't. I'm here to see someone. I'm here to see Geng. Who are you?”
Kyuhyun blinked as he stared at the boy in disbelief. Sighing softly, he opened the door a little wider.
“Come on in.”
_
It had turned out that the boy, called Henry, wasn't really a boy, but in fact a twenty year old in college. Kyuhyun muffled a yawn as he stared at the fidgeting younger in boredom.
“So, who are you?” The Henry 'kid' asked, curiosity laced in his tone as he looked at Kyuhyun cautiously.
“Hangeng's roommate.” The older of the two replied shortly.
“Ah, I see.”
The conversation was going nowhere and Kyuhyun wondered how long Henry was going to be staying. The snarky man was hoping that the chubby cheek kid wasn't staying too long. He didn't like sharing what was suppose to be his. The nagging tone that sounded like Heechul reminded him that Geng wasn't exactly his anymore.
He slapped the thought away before turning to look at Henry.
“Hey. Can you cook?”
His stomach grumbled once more.
_
When Geng opened the door, he was greeted by the alarming smell of smoke.
The snarky man scowled as he crossed his arms. “Why am I being punished? He said he could cook.” He grumbled and shot a glare at Henry. The boy whimpered softly as he hid behind Geng.
“Whatever. Food's on the table. Warm it up yourself.” Geng replied as he looked to the burnt mark on the stove. He had been lucky, arriving in time when the cup noodle had caught on fire. He didn't even know how that was possible.
“I'm sorry Geng.” Henry murmured softly between whimpers as he latched onto the older man. He sighed and hugged the boy, patting him on the back. “It's okay and it's glad to see you, Henli-Ah.”
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes at the display, picking up the doggy bag that Geng had brought him.
_
“How come I can't get in?” The tall, lanky man asked as he crossed his arms over his chest, raising a skeptical look at the older. He wanted to mention Geng that he was his pet and therefore got easy access to his bed, but he was there.
He shot Henry an evil glare, immediately liking how the boy would lower his gaze and cower back slightly.
Although he didn't like how the younger would wrap his arms around Geng like some cheap imitation of a child, then again Henry did look like one.
The oldest sighed and shook his head. “I told you already. Henry's our guest and I gave you the loft bed.”
“Well then, we'll switch places.” He directed his attentions on the youngest, growling softly. “Switch places with me, kid.”
Kyuhyun found it highly irritating when the boy had the balls to shake his head, a frown on his features as his eyes narrowed back in determination. From the snarky man's point of view, it looked like Henry was puffing his cheeks out, and he could barely see the boy's eyes.
He crossed his arms and glared back. “Hey, no fighting. You have your own bed.” Geng pointed to the door, giving Kyuhyun a look. The younger man rolled his eyes and walked out of the room, grumbling softly to himself. He wasn't going to give up for sure, at least not with a fight.
He had temporarily lost a battle to Siwon, but the war wasn't over yet. Plus, Cho Kyuhyun wasn't going to lose to some brat that barely looked older than fifteen.
_
When morning had arrived, Geng was to say the least, in a highly uncomfortable state. The sleeping man was sandwiched between Kyuhyun and Henry. The snarky man had sneaked in during the night and invited himself into the bed. His arms were thrown around the Chinese man's shoulder, while a leg was tossed over the body, wrapping it against his own in a possessive claim.
Poor Henry was only able to snuggle close to Geng.
The oldest had some trouble sleeping, feeling a strange itch, due to Kyuhyun's hairy leg.
