Title: Stray Cardboard Boxes (5/?)
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Romance/Comedy
Pairings: KyuHan. ShiHan.
Warnings: None.
Summary: Based on the manga, “Tramps Like Us.” It was one night of clumsiness that cost Geng a scuffed shoe and an accidental meeting with a runaway Kyuhyun. Generous and rather stupid, he takes the unconscious male in to tend to his wounds, and somewhere along the lines makes him his pet as well. It wasn't his fault that the younger reminded him of his own dog back at China.

The insides of his cramped cubicle wasn't doing him any justice, Geng thought as he leaned back into his chair, huffing a sigh as he gazed tiredly at the computer screen. It wasn't that he had a lot to do, he had very little to do actually. The upcoming event happening tonight, this Friday night was giving him an anxiety attack.
His mother was finally coming over and she wanted to see his man. Luckily for him, Siwon had agreed and Geng was eternally grateful towards the younger man. It was perfect so far. Kyuhyun had been in and out of the place, doing things that he didn't know what the male was doing. Sad to say his pet had more of a life than he had.
Double checking his work before saving it, he stood up and stretched. He had also told his pet that his mother was coming over, meaning Kyuhyun wouldn't be home until later on. It seemed to be working out. So far that is.
_
“Are you ready?” Geng asked as he spotted Siwon at the lobby. They had agreed to meet up a little before the actual visit with his mother. He was beyond nervous, taking a deep breath as he flashed the younger a warm smile.
“Don't worry. I'm ready and you'll do fine. I promise I won't mess up too. At least not too badly.” Siwon said with a laugh and a playful wink, following Geng out the building.
_
Hiding behind the fake bush, he shot up, followed by three of his companions.
“Did you see that?! Did you see them walk out the door together!? He's up to something.” Sungmin replied, binoculars in hand as he looked over to the three.
Donghae stared at the spot where Geng and Siwon was, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “Scandalous.”
Ryeowook looked on in worry, a frown settling on his childish features. “Maybe they're just going out for drinks.”
“But that's already bad enough.” Donghae replied, pouting softly at the thought. Sungmin frowned, shaking his head in agreement. “Or worse, Siwon could be luring Geng into his den.” The four paled at the thought, explicit images running through their perverted minds.
It was Eunhyuk that broke the thought train, coughing slightly as he flushed a deep red. The image of Geng's long legs running in his mind. “How about we..follow them?”
Beaming at their youngest addition, Sungmin flashed a grin. “Just what I was thinking.”
_
Kyuhyun growled softly as he threw Zhou Mi a nasty look. The older male had ran passed him once more much to his displeasure. Huffing as he continued his snail pace jog through the track, the snarky male cursed the fact that he had shown up on the day where the fitness exam was going to be on.
He had made it clear that he was going to skip it, but had forgotten because Geng had kicked him out of the apartment temporarily.
Hearing the whistle, he stopped and breathed out in relief. Heart pounding madly in his chest, breathing ragged and short, while sweat was currently conquering the interiors of his white flimsy shirt. The dog boy was practically drowning in his own sweat.
“Nothing beats a good exercise on a cool day.” Zhou Mi piped in cheerfully as he opened his cold bottle of water.
“Fuck you and give me that.” The younger man snarled as he swiped the cold bottle of water from the cheery man.
“I can't..Believe..You didn't..fucking tell me..That today was going to be..the fucking fitness test!”
He growled and shot the Chinese male a dirty look before storming off.
_
“Welcome to my apartment. It's not much, but it's home.” Geng said casually as he slipped off his shoes, Siwon doing the same.
The younger man smiled, taking in the surroundings. “I like it. It feels like Geng.”
“You don't know how I feel like, Siwon-Ah.” The Chinese male replied coyly, smirking softly as he sat the cake box down. They had stopped by the bakery to get some cake, hoping it would please Geng's mother.
“Hyung, is that a challenge?”
_
“I can't hear anything!” Donghae whined in the hallway. “Shut up and just try to listen! I think I hear something!” Sungmin hissed as he shot his friend a look. “What if they're doing something, you know...private. We should leave them alone.” Ryeowook suggested, sadden by the idea of his precious Chinese hyung getting it on with a beast like Siwon. Eunhyuk frowned, looking to Sungmin for words of wisdom.
All four of them were huddled over the apartment door of Geng's unit, holding plastic paper cups. They had managed to sneak in without getting caught, despite that none of them had card keys to the elevators or anything. It wasn't like anyone noticed that they didn't live there. Security was so poor that the four was beginning to worry over Geng's virtue.
“Um..Excuse me?”
Four pairs of eyes turned, catching sight of a smiling middle-aged woman.
_
“Geng! I hope you don't mind that I'm letting myself-Oh my!” The black haired woman stopped, frozen by the sight in front of her.
“Don't worry Mrs.Han! We'll protect you!” Donghae yelled as he jumped in front of the woman, the three doing the same, making a circle. “Oh my God, what the hell are you doing you pervert!?” Sungmin shrieked as he jabbed a finger at the sight before him. Ryeowook whimpered, feeling his knees get weak at the sight, Eunhyuk holding him up for support.
There on the couch was Geng and Siwon. The younger had his arms wrapped around the older, hands under Geng's shirt, holding him by the sides. The Chinese man stared eyes wide, sputtering incoherently as he got up, accidentally shoving Siwon back onto the couch in the process.
“Mama! I can explain!” He held his hands in defense, smiling weakly at the woman who had her hands on her hips.
“Mama...He's my boyfriend.”
Siwon gulped, feeling himself cower at the glare the middle-aged woman was giving him.
“Hi..Mrs.Han..”
“What!?” The four men said in unison, eyes gawking at the two.
“Since when did this happen? We demand to know!” Sungmin said, marching up in front, arms crossed. Han Mama nodded, agreeing with the male. The three others in back nodded in unison, arms crossed as well.
“Yes, he's right. I would like to know, Geng.”
Geng paused, blinking at the number of occupants in the room.
“What are you guys doing here?” He asked, looking over to the quartet. “Nevermind that!” Donghae piped in, a smile on his face as he beamed at the Chinese male. “Ah yes, nevermind that. Just tell us!” Sungmin said with a small frown.
Noting the displeased, murderous look on Sungmin's face, he gulped and glanced over to the others. Ryeowook looked like he was about to faint, the addition looked like he was about to cry, while Donghae was beaming at him a little too much for comfort.
He coughed and loosen his tie. “Ah...”
“Just two months back, Mrs.Han.” Geng blinked as he looked over to his side, seeing Siwon. He blushed, secretly thankful for the save.
“I see. So this is your boyfriend, Geng?” She fixed a look at her son. It was neither a glare nor a look of displeasure, but simply a look out of curiosity. He nodded numbly, not trusting himself to speak.
Sighing softly, she clapped her hands, a strange look in her eye. “Oh, Geng, Mama's so happy for you. A well paying job in a foreign country and now a man in your life! My, he's so handsome.” She blushed, gushing.
Geng blinked, watching his mother.
“Um..Anyways..Mama, where's Henry?”
“The poor boy had a stomachache, but he said he'll drop by in a few days. He wants to stay over a bit.” The Chinese woman said with a smile. Geng nodded, forcing a smile yet secretly rejecting the idea. What was he going to do about Kyuhyun? Hopefully the snarky male would behave around little Henry.
_
His mother had ended up staying a few more hours, insisting that she cook for her son and all his friends before leaving.
“That was a relief.” Geng said as he picked up the dishes. Siwon immediately stood up, helping the older man with the washing. “Didn't I say things would work out smoothly?” Geng smiled and rolled his eyes before casting a glance over to the sides.
“Not that smooth, but it wasn't bad.” He said with a laugh, replaying today's mini disaster.
“Hey, I'm back.” Kyuhyun called out as he threw off his shoes, stepping into the living room. He stopped at the kitchen, seeing Geng and Siwon.
Hiding his distaste for Siwon's presence, Kyuhyun stepped in, waving awkwardly to the pair. “Yo.”
Geng glanced over to the male and smiled. “Dinner's on the table.” Siwon looked to the youngest, flashing him a kind smile. He blinked, frowning as he turned to look at Geng. “What's that smell?”
“I'll go shower.” The snarky male blushed gently. He had been exercising all day and had forgotten his current state until now.
_
Locking the door, he stripped his clothes off, and tossed it to the floor before getting into the shower stall. Since Geng wasn't washing his hair today, he used the shower instead. He turned on the water, closing his eyes as he lathered shampoo onto his hair. Kyuhyun had very much wanted Geng to wash his hair that night.
Deciding that he was clean enough, he got out of the showers, and threw on a clean set of pajamas that his master had bought him. A pair of flannel pajama bottoms and a plain maroon shirt. He walked out of the steamy bathroom, hearing two familiar voices not too far from him. He leaned against the wall, taking a peek out.
Geng and Siwon were just standing in the hallway. Kyuhyun could make the shorter figure of his master from the distance.
“I have to thank you again for doing such a big favor for me. I know it wasn't easy to do, using your free time to help me, so thank you.” He smiled, beaming at the younger.
Siwon in turn smiled back, blushing gently as he waved his hands in dismissal. “It was nothing at all really! I enjoyed it actually...And I was meaning to ask you..This whole..boyfriend thing..I was thinking..Instead of being your fake boyfriend..I would like to be your real boyfriend. If you want to that is..I understand if you don't..I mean, we'll take it slow and all, because I'm probably rushing this..and-”
“Yes.” Siwon looked up, meeting Geng's smiling face. “Excuse me?” “Yes. I would like that.” He paused and stared at the tanned male before breaking out into a goofy smile. “I'm glad you said yes.”
Geng felt strong arms wrapped around him and just like he always dreamed of them feeling this good, they were twice as good in reality. He smiled bashfully, embracing the male back as they hugged in the hallway.
He turned around, having witness the exchange. A dark look in his narrowed eyes as brown locks shielded them, hands clenched into fists as he quietly walked away.
_
“Good Morning, Wookie!” Geng smiled softly as he walked over to where the male was standing, beaming at him before walking away. The petite man blinked, tilting his head to the side as the strangeness of it all. Geng was unusually cheerful today.
“Hey! What's going on?” Sungmin was immediately by his side, jealous that he didn't get a nickname from the Chinese male. Donghae shrugged while Eunhyuk looked puzzled, the four currently surprised at the strange way they're crush was acting.
“Isn't it easy? He's with Siwon.” The four jumped at the new voice, turning their gaze over to see an ever smiling Kibum. The male flashed them all a smile before retreating back to his cubicle.
“What a freak.” Mumbled Sungmin as he crossed his arms, glaring to the side.
“That stupid Siwon. Geng was suppose to be ours!” He whined, burying his face onto Ryeowook's shoulder for comfort. “It's not fair. Just because he has dimples and that oversized dick!”
“Shh..Hyung, the aliens will hear you!”
_
“Kyuhyun, I'm home!”
Stepping into the living room, he looked around, not seeing the snarky male in sight. Geng walked over to the loft bed, seeing a foot poke out behind the bars.
“Kyuhyun?”
The younger male shifted from under the blankets, climbing down the stairs. He looked to the older, nodding at him before climbing back up.
Geng blinked at the sudden shift in behavior. He frowned softly as he watched Kyuhyun slip back under the covers. “Are you okay? Not feeling well? Something wrong?” The Chinese male asked, tone laced in concern as he climbed the ladder, poking his head to look at his pet.
He saw the blankets being thrown over as the curly head shook in denial.
“No.”
Sighing softly, Geng climbed down, reaching the floor, he stopped, and glanced up. “Well..Dinner's going to ready soon. Just so you know.”
He threw one more glance at the loft bed before disappearing into the kitchen. Dinner was going to be made according to Kyuhyun's taste, thought the male as he opened the fridge. He would make the male's favorite dishes and give him dessert too.
A hopeful smile spread across his face as he got out the ingredients.
_
Geng felt a little disappointed when he had received no reaction from the younger. “Do you like it?” He asked as he looked to the male sitting across from him. Kyuhyun looked up and nodded. “Yeah, it's good.” He said softly before averting his gaze back to his bowl.
“Ah, yeah...”
He didn't know why Kyuhyun was acting like this. Usually the younger would say something bratty about his cooking and demanding that he make it again. Sighing softly in frustration, he slapped his chopsticks down onto the table. He rubbed his temples in circles, eyes closed as his shoulders sagged. Putting his hand down, he looked at Kyuhyun.
“Okay, what is it? I don't know what's wrong and you're not telling me. You're acting beyond troublesome.”
He leaned back into his seat, watching as the younger slowly lift his head up to meet his gaze. Kyuhyun paused in the midst of chewing before swallowing. He calmly placed his chopsticks down, turning his attentions back to Geng.
“Nothing is wrong. What could possibly make you say that?” His tone eerily calm, if not a bit icy as he directed the words towards his master.
He huffed, throwing his hands up in the air in mockery. “I don't know. You're usually more talkative than that, saying things like how you broke a bowl again while making yourself ramen or..or just being a smartass!”
Kyuhyun scoffed at the man's words, glaring off to the side. “So what if I'm not talking or if I'm not being a smartass, I'm more than just snark and ass.” He replied, rolling his eyes.
He stood up, slamming his hands down on the table as he fixed the younger a firm stare. “I can't believe you! Just tell me what the hell's the matter! No, you know what? I demand you to tell me what's wrong!”
“You can't boss me around like that!” Kyuhyun shot up, glaring at the older man as he crossed his arms.
“Well I can, I'm your master, remember?”
“Shut up! It's not like I matter anymore since you have that stupid load of muscles with you!”
He froze, realizing what he had just blurted out.
“Wait, is this about Siwon? You saw..” Geng stared at the younger, eyes wide.
“Look, it's nothing, alright? You know what, I'm just going to go.” He shot Geng a look before storming out of the dining area. Reaching for the door, he unlocked it, and swung it open. Just as he was about to go out through the door, he was pulled back.
“Just stop it. Stop it all. You don't need me anymore, right?”
The younger turned around and took a step out, hands in his pockets as he stood there, slouching slightly. He glanced back, catching the pained look on Geng's face.
“You're going to kick me out, right? Siwon probably wants you to move into his place and you always wanted him, so you got your wish and-”
He was cut off by a loud smack as Geng's hand collided with his face. Blinking in shock, he gingerly touched the spot on his face, staring at the man.
“Shut up. Shut up! Who said I was going to kick you out? Look, you're my pet..and I just because I have a boyfriend now doesn't mean I'm going to go and abandon you like that. This is your home, Kyuhyun..And you're welcome to stay for as long as you like. Siwon or no Siwon.” He sighed and shook his head, looking to the side.
“For such a clever kid, you come up with the stupidest shit in the world.”
“Shut up and hug me.”
Laughing softly, he pulled the younger male into his arms, hugging him tightly.
At least for now, he knew it he had a home. It may not last long, but it was as good as long as Geng wants him here.
“I can't believe you hit me.”
A soft laugh escaped those pretty lips as his eyes twinkled, looking at Kyuhyun.
“Sorry. I'll make it up to you.”
“You hit like a girl and I get in on your bed this whole week.”
_
Unbeknownst to Kyuhyun and Geng, they were being watch by a set of eyes.
_
“Hey! Don't hog the bed all to yourself! This is a king sized bed and your ass is taking up more than half of it!”
“Mm..Don't wanna.” Kyuhyun murmured, his face buried into the large bear that Siwon gave Geng. The Chinese male sighed, sitting on the edge as he watched Kyuhyun beat up the bear. “Stop that. You have your own to torture.”
“I prefer this one better. It's bigger.” He rolled over to give Geng more space, watching as the male laid down.
Smirking softly, Kyuhyun scooted closer to the male, sitting Indian styled as he stared down at his master.
“I don't think Siwon would like to know that you fart in bed.”
“You lie! I didn't fart!”
