Maybe I did steal your heart,
Kibum watched as Jinki laughed, revealing a row of perfectly white teeth. (Kibum knew that a few of those teeth were fake, but what did it matter really?) He watched, as Jinki whispered something into Taemin’s ear, and the youngest of the five buried his head in Jinki’s shoulder, using Jinki’s shirt to muffle his laughter. But as Kibum sat in the dining chair, head propped lazily on his arm, he also saw Jinki’s eyes flicker over to where he sat in silence.
Come play with me, his eyes seemed to say.
Kibum could only blink and turned away.
and I am such a perfect criminal,
He felt like a right coward, he did. Whenever Jinki was with someone else, he never wanted more than to be the one Jinki was talking to, or playing with. But yet, whenever Jinki was with him, Kibum would go deathly silent, as if Harry Potter himself had sprang alive from the books that Kibum kept neatly on his bookshelf and placed a silencing charm on him. (Kibum had yet to figure out how to lift the spell.)
And so, the Almighty Key had been reduced to a mere high school girl (boy), who contented herself (himself) with watching her (his) crush from afar. Quiet though he might be, Kibum was determined.
Jinki did love him.
(He just didn’t know it yet.)
