On the difference between Good Dogs and Dogs that Need a Newspaper Smack.

It's a shame about the mess that lead to me seeing the link posted.

When chased by a car, why does everybody in TV/Movies run down the center of the road? Why has nobody ever thought of the wondrous survival technique of "get off that nice flat surface that was designed for cars to drive on?"

Not an original thought, but I seem to keep running into this situation this week and it's bugging the hell out of me.

If you are not a show that regularly has courtroom scenes, please resist the urge to write an episode that contains one.

If you fail to resist this urge, please remember the following points that pretty much everyone in your audience already knows:

1. Witnesses aren't in the courtroom before they testify. I know it's dramatic, but it doesn't happen.*

Saw Sherlock Holmes last week, and enjoyed it.

This week I decided to go see Avatar.

It looks beautiful. The plot is predictable, but the characters are fleshed out enough to carry it, IMHO.
And it teaches the valuable lesson: ( Spoiler! )

Try to schedule it for before the apocalypse.*

Just got back from seeing The Road. I found it to be an interesting study of the depths that humanity can sink to, given the right circumstances. Of course the odds that you'll survive to see what appears to be a nuclear winter are low enough that you probably shouldn't worry,
