The university system that we know of here doesn't exist in my world. [A pause here.] But there are some similarities. There was a single institution in the city of Aspio that could have qualified as 'higher education', if even, but it was mainly dedicated to the study of blastia and related topics. Smaller educational institutions were scattered ( Read more... )

rita is curious, !voice, there is no right answer, she might fireball you for this, is totally not trying to make a decision, university why, she wants opinions; surprisingly enough, she wants answers, she wants them now, she wants to know, questions

You did. But you had a basis to it. I really did already learn everything I needed to know.

[Ahh the cold maiden~]

How could a question from a beautiful maiden be left without a response by me? I am pleased to say that I am attending~! Since I can't possibly fall behind now can I? [And plus the GIRLS. All in one place. Scooore!]

[This guy again. :|]

In my opinion, you've already fallen behind. Far behind the human race, that is. If you're going to flirt, can't you do it within reason?

It's weird, isn't it? I didn't think that there would ever be something like a school here.

Are you going?

kyudousha September 14 2010, 01:50:15 UTC
It's actually considered normal for a school to be here. You realized how this place is a reflection of somebody's design of an every-day world?

But... I can't say for certain yet. If I'm going or not.

I guess so. I mean...schools are normal, but it never seemed like this place needed one.

And why not give it a try? School can be fun, and you might learn something.

[This is Rita. Pause. Consider.]

Maybe.

There're idiots here. I'd say this place needed one more than ever.

[Pffft.]

Yeah, it's that 'maybe' I'm considering here. Honestly speaking, I doubt I'll learn anything I didn't know already, but... there're always new schools of thought, you know? I need to take that into consideration.

[That pretty much flew over Senri's head, sorry. Just. Looking confused now.

Also did he move back in with her or he is still, idk. Camping outside or something.]

Do you want to attend school?

[Ah, Miss Rita~ Sharon is genuinely glad to hear from her.]

I believe I received a very coherent education during my upbringing and cannot help but feel it would be more productive for me to continue my studies on my own, with occasional guidance from Break in place of my grandmother, than to enroll in the public institution. After all, I do not believe what I need to learn is available in the classes offered.

... that said, it seems like quite the interesting experience. Perhaps if Miss Alice attends, she will have to inform me of what it is like.

Is that an acceptable answer, Miss Rita?

[Rita can't say the same, sadly. She's just a tsun like that.]

So basically, what you're trying to say is that you're expecting the level of education to be lower than what you're used to, or the education itself doesn't cater to your particular needs.

Haven't you considered that maybe your own education was lacking something?

[Pshft, tsuns. Sharon loves them anyway. However at that question, she must tilt her head.]

No, I have not. My grandmother and mother would make it a point to oversee my studies to ensure that I would be able to comprehensively manage all tasks that I may encounter in the foreseeable future. I saw no reason to question them, for they are respectable women who have brought honor to our family and upheld our pride.

Start realizing that you're in a completely different place now. In fact, a place where some of those 'tasks' that your family foresaw aren't going to be there for you to encounter, and that there are going to be 'tasks' and you might not have been prepared for because your family never saw them coming. How do you know that you aren't missing understanding that would help you better integrate to here.

Because remember, you're not in your home world anymore. Some of their 'preparations' may not apply, and you might meet situations where you've never had the previous training to adapt to.
