I'll probably be mostly offline for a day or three. I fell off my bike this afternoon, and am scraped up and a little shaky. I'll be okay, but my knee is turning purple and swelling up, and since I landed face-first, I need to have my teeth checked out tomorrow.
Bless the NYPD; they have their problems, but they also have some genuinely good people in their ranks. The cop who was patroling the greenway came upon us a few minutes after I faceplanted into the asphalt, and he stopped and offered us to drive us to the hospital. I declined -- I didn't feel like spending all afternoon in a waiting room only to have an overworked doctor tell me that I have skinned knees and a handful of bruises and that I should go see a dentist tomorrow -- so he helped Amy load up the bikes and gave us a ride home instead.
