This has me irritated to no end.  The teacher slapping at and spitting on the student.  The student's open defiance of the teacher's authority.  They are BOTH wrong.  I hope the student was "punished" as well.  It was a two way street, and both were at fault.

Yes it has been 30+ years since I was in school. And there were things wrong, then, too.  But we knew we were there to get educated, NOT disrespect the teachers or ourselves with asinine behavior.  The "bad' kids went to the office, were suspended or expelled.  If you wanted back in to LEARN, you had to prove yourself.  Today, educators are not much more than babysitters with their dignity removed.

I'm so irritated I can't put my thoughts into words, except to say, lets go back 100 or so years.
Children go to school for 6 years or so, then they can go into apprenticeships, continue education or just get a job.  Young people could go to work on farms and ranches, start in some retail or food entity (at the bottom, of course, and work their way up, like Dave Thomas), and there's always factories, food processing, janitorial positions....  But, they need to realize that to GET somewhere, they NEED an education!
Steve Jobs didn't stay in school, but he kept educating himself.  Donald Trump attended a military academy and two universities.  And even beloved Tim Tebow went to college (that's where professional football players come from).

wrong, teacher, education system, student
