I'm craving chicken noodle soup...

Yep, it's official. I'm sick.

My mom was sick about two weeks ago with bronchitis/walking pneumonia, and my uncle was sick over Christmas with the flu. My dad caught the flu from my uncle. I thought I avoided them both, but when I woke up today.... yeah, apparently not. So far it's just my throat hurting, which wouldn't bother me too much except I've already had this once this year.

My dad's also guilt tripping me (probably unintentionally). Even though he's sick, he won't stop working. He stayed home yesterday to "recover", but it seems he can't sit still for 30 minutes without doing something productive: cleaning the kitchen, taking out the trash, changing filters, running errands, answering emails from work, etc. In contrast, when I'm sick, I just mope around the house and watch TV/read a book/surf the internet all day.

The one productive thing I have tried to do (finishing some art) is not working because my tablet is not responding.

I have a Wacom Intuos 3. I'm using Photoshop CS4. I reinstalled the tablet driver yesterday because it wasn't mapping to my screen dimensions correctly.

It seemed to work for a short time. Then the pen pressure quit responding. It would work for the first line I drew, then it wouldn't work for the next 3-4 lines. Then, right when I was getting frustrated with it, it would work again for 1-2 seconds. At first I thought that it might be messing up because part of my hand was resting on the tablet, but that's never made it mess up before. (And I tried a different way of holding the pen to keep my hand off the tablet. No improvement.) I don't remember where you turn pen pressure on in Photoshop, but I doubt that's the problem since it seems to be partially working. I'm really confused on why this is happening...

Today, when I plugged in the tablet, my computer said that the device didn't install correctly. The tablet registers that I'm using it (the green light comes on), but nothing happens on my computer screen. This also started happening on my desktop about 2 months ago. The only way I've been able to fix it is to keep restarting my computer and plugging in my tablet until it responds. Surely there is some better way to fix this...

Also, a question for the one (maybe two?) people on my f-list who buy anime plush. I've never liked the Banpresto human plush because they are derp personified, but then I saw this and I think I need it in my life. Apparently it's a nendoroid style plush? (Didn't realize those existed until now...) It looks like a high quality plush, but stock photos can be deceiving. Has anyone bought from this plush line before? Did the actual item live up to the stock photos? Answered. Thank you!
