T he background noise to Miyavi’s thoughts was the soft trickling of water flowing over rock and down stream. It was so peaceful here, plenty of room for thought, with his pant legs rolled to mid-calf and feet hanging off the bank into the water. He was unconsciously sucking his lip ring when another presence approached him. By the way his pinkish purple hair hung around his face and his defined nose met his memorably shaped lips, he was easily recognized as Kaoru. The man sat next to his junior without a word. He too rolled up his pant legs and plunged his feet in the water, rather loudly. To their backs where many plain houses and stores, and although they where different colors, they all had the same monochromes feel to them. Shop keepers where rarely seen these days and for a place with a span as large as this, a fair amount of people lived there. But there where never crowds and people didn’t speak to one another if it wasn’t needed, unless they had some sort of relationship, something that was almost unheard of. But there was Miyavi and a few others who where close. Some more than others.
“How are things?” Kaoru broke the silence with a question uneasily answered.
The answer didn’t come immediately, as there where many ways to take and answer this.
“I guess…grey. I have a strange feeling, but it’s kind of suppressed.”
“Oh? I have an uneasy feeling too.”
Miyavi said nothing, so Kaoru went on.
“I think something is wrong with Kyo.”
This got Miyavi’s full attention.
“Really? Hmm..yeah I think it is Kyo. Do you think it’s bad?”
“Can't be good.”
“…I guess that’s true…”
Kaoru’s head rested thoughtfully on his palm. He stared at the water giving off reflections of the sun; it reminded him vaguely of diamonds. The two sat together wondering what could possibly be so wrong with their Ecorpus that caused irksome feeling.
“Do you think the rest have this feeling?”
Kaoru licked his perfectly shaped lips,
“Who knows? Probably not. They're just zombies with a heartbeat.”
Miya didn’t answer so Kaoru finished his thought with a sigh.
“But, as long as they contribute even the smallest amount..they don’t die,”
Miyavi groaned and threw himself against the hard ground.
“Oh fucking…”
He groaned again and stood up.
“Kao, I‘m going home. See ya’.”
“Bye~”
His wet feet collected dirt, leaving little prints of mud everywhere he walked.

“Look Meevsie, there’s no way around this one. We see through your and Kai’s little façade. You can’t fool us.”
Uruha said as he lifted another drink to his mouth. Miyavi glanced at Kai and saw his eyes dart in the other direction, lowering his head in shame. He grinned and watched the black hair fall in front of his eyes. He sighed.
“You’re a pig, Uruha.”
He faked an offended look to Miyavi, then turned to Bou and started whispering. Bou giggled and leaned in closer to him.
“I’m leaving.”
He hugged Bou, ignored Uruha and walked to the other side of the table and leaned down to kiss Kai. The soft flesh that was Kai’s lips was moist and trembling. He began to respond to the kiss but Miyavi pulled away and whispered “Bye”. Kai’s eyes where rounded in surprise. He diced he would never let him know how his stomach did summer salutes, as he closed the door behind him. The night was humid, surprisingly and the only light was that coming from an occasional window, usually it was the blue flickering of a TV. He whistled as he made his way down the abandon street, still thinking of Kai’s lips against his. He was biting at his lip ring when he heard what sounded like someone kicking a trash bag filled with glass. From a deep but desperate voice came “Ouch!” and a grunt, immediately after the grunt he heard what he assumed was that person tripping over a bag. He curiously looked into the alley between an old bakery and a television store whose merchandise was 10 years out of date.
“Hello?”
The irksome feeling crept back into his stomach.
A figure picked itself off the ground. Miya noted its short stature. A blonde man about 19 or 20 emerged into the faint light. His stomach jolted, this man felt very very familiar. He just couldn’t place him.
“Are you okay??”
The mans head shot up.
“Am I okay? You tell me.” The short blonde went on to mutter inaudible obscenities. He looked back into Miyavi’s black eyes.
“I’m sorry. I kind of don’t know what’s happening..” he looked back to the sidewalk.
“Oh? Um, maybe I can help? I’m Miyavi.”
“I’m Kyo.”
That was the last thing he expected to hear from the blonde’s lips. But in some way, it made sense.
“Kyo? Your are Kyo?”
Miyavi stared wide-eyed.
“Yeah.”
He almost asked how the hell he got there. But obviously he wouldn’t know. Still, he couldn’t just let him wander around all night. It would be immoral if he did.
“You want to stay at my place tonight? We can figure things out tomorrow.”
Kyo was indecisive.
“…I don’t…”
“It’s really late.” He pointed out.
Kyo nodded. Miyavi smiled.
“Yay, okay. I live just there.”
He pointed down the street.

Kyo closed the door to the spare bedroom behind him. More like a closet with a bed and night stand. Oh God, what about Shinya? What if he died in his sleep and this was his hell? Maybe this was just his weird dream continued. Who knows, but he liked to think that when he woke up in the morning, he’d be in Shinya’s arms and not this Miyavi’s closet. He flopped onto the bed, which squeaked with every movement. He lay for what seemed like an eternity and came not an inch closer to sleep. Miyavi’s voice was getting closer, then further, then closer again, then further away.
“I’m not lying to you!” he whispered loudly. More whispers that he couldn’t make out.
“Huh! Well since you seem to know everything, why don’t you tell me what's going on, Kaoru’-sensei’!”
After a few seconds, he poked his head in.
“How’d you get here?”
Kyo shrugged at his hands with fresh scabs on the left hand. If he told him what happened, or what he thought happened, he’d wake up in a mental hospital for sure.
“I don’t know.”
“Really? Well…don’t you remember anything?” he looked expectantly at Kyo.
Kyo scratched his head, as soon as he opened his mouth Miyavi shoved the phone at him and mouthed “talk”.
“Um..I remember having a dream…and then I got….pulled in by myself, sort of.”
Kyo said nervously, knowing that it sounded every bit as stupid in real life as it did in his head. Mental hospital, for sure. But something about Miyavi’s demeanor made him believe that he was expecting an “out there” answer like this. Miyavi laughed into the phone with a trace of manic.
“Yeah? Good news, the worlds come to an end.”
He said sarcastically into the phone, looking distressed.
