My car is getting a facelift right now. Isn't that what LA calls a new windshield now? New lights could be a boob job.

Either way, it's through Safelite -- it was easy to set an appt, they come to home or office (I picked home) and seem to be a reasonable price ($225ish with all labor, parts, new windshield wipers, etc). So hopefully it will be an ( Read more... )

• My windshield is cracked -- a rock on the freeway and then a carwash, and then the crazy high temperatures this week :(

Mike is kind of wonderful. I made it to work only a few minutes late after aaveraging around 120 to get here... staying at 130 where traffic would allow it, and only hitting 100 or a bit under once or twice ( Read more... )

Yesterday was like a birthday for my car. I took it to get new wheels, and while waiting the 30ish min before they could put them on I got it washed at the place next door! The guy was like "woah!" when he opened the door to vaccuum. Yeah, it had been a while and a number of trips since the inside was cleaned. So I got the good wash that included ( Read more... )

So time for a new lock. Swam this morning at 24HF, and it was a pretty good swim. Got out, showered, got out of the shower. And then hear that some one's keys, in their bag in their locker (although it was unlocked) were stollen, and their van was then stollen. This last race was, well, quite a learning experience. It started as a team built from eCamp -- myself, Ryan (another participant), Chris (a volunteer), and Duncan (a friend of Chris'). Today has a mantra of "one more month..." cause it took about 2.5 hours to get to work. At at time it usually takes about 50 min. Possible fatality in a wreck with a burned up semi going through all the lanes of eastbound 91 right at the 15. So yeah, I mean, I understand the traffic. Been there, done that.
