My mom cooked a turkey for a family dinner (in Tennessee) today
You would think she had never cooked one by herself before. She called me four times to make sure that I was informed of the progress.
"How much salt do you put in the brine? The turkey weighs 23 pounds."
"I don't think the turkey has a neck. There wasn't one inside."
"I've made the cornbread and biscuits for the dressing, but I bought the wrong kind of onions for the dressing. The celery was tough. The dressing just didn't taste right until I added some more seasoning. Sonny tasted it, but I didn't trust his tasting."
