Senior Software Engineer
SUMMARY:
Developing and implementing solutions (with the focus on Java based web applications) that meet the needs of the customer. This includes the design and build of proprietary enterprise scale solutions, unit and functional testing as well as contributing to the provision of Quality Assurance, Configuration, Solving technical issues, Testing, Training or Documentation services required to successfully integrate and implement the final solution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Technical design of systems and solutions in the assigned IT field
• Apply standard methodologies when creating new programs and applications (developing and coding from specifications) or when maintaining existing ones
• Unit/Component test planning & delivery
• Support & Issue Resolution during testing phases of the project
• Documenting work using the required standards, methods and tools e.g. producing program and system documentation
• Assisting in definition, initiation and design of architecture in projects/programs
REQUIREMENTS:
• 3-5 years’ experience in JEE and Oracle database development
• Passion for developing good software and knowledge of Software Engineering practices is a must
• Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural multi-functional environment where consensus is critical for success
• Experience with Agile development practices and tools (SCRUM, Kanban, RUP)
• Experience with unit, regression, performance testing
• Versatile character with good technical and analytical thinking, having worked in projects as Developer and Tester or Analyst
• Must have hands on experience with specific best practices and technologies (Spring, Hibernate, Bootstrap, Wicket)
• Active usage of at least one Java Application Server (Tomcat, webMethods, Fusion/WebLogic, WebSphere, …)
• Knowledge and experience with Big data (ElasticSearch), Portals, Mobile development, Microsoft Sharepoint and Microsoft SSRS, BugZilla, IBM Rational tools is a plus
• Knowledge and experience with IBM WebSphere or SoftwareAG webMethods Integration Stacks is a plus
• Knowledge and experience with UNIX/LINUX scripting is a plus
• BS/BA or MS/MA in mathematics, physics, economics, engineering or computer science preferred
• Good level of written and spoken English
