We have an icecube tray at work and it's very common to open the freezer and find that there's a spike sticking out from a cube, even as long as 1 to 2 inches! I had no power for 9 hours on Halloween night. The power went off briefly around 10, but came back long enough for me to finish watching a recorded show. Then, a little before 11, it went off again.
