Yuletide Letter
Dear Yuletide Writer,
First of all, a fic in any of my chosen fandoms would make me ecstatic, and if you have some particular idea that does not follow any of my suggestions, than by all means write that. Write whatever makes you happy!
General likes: I love slash/femslash and occasionally het, even if this year my requests seem to point to character based gen fics. I am not anti porn, but I prefer plot and UST. Happy, or at least hopeful, endings, character development, banter, ensemble fic, misunderstandings, pining, strong character voices.
General dislikes: character bashing, holiday fic, kid fic, hopeless angst, character death.
Figure Skating RPF - Meryl Davis, Charlie White, Tanith Belbin
I find the relationship between ice dancers really interesting, and Meryl and Charlie are my favourite. They are the longest partnership in US history, the story goes that Meryl was so shy that she didn't speak to Charlie for years. Charlie broke his ankle playing Hockey and they had to miss an entire season. They are both in the same university, but don't know what to say to one another when they see each other on campus. They train in the same place with all their main rivals, who they've grown up with. And then there is Tanith, Charlie and her started dating while they were still competing against each other, which couldn't have been easy. Though my secret hope is for an slowly developing OT3 with a lot of angst on the way, a canon compliant het fic would make me no less happy. Or, like an ensemble fic with pranks! Anything really, as long as there is a fair amount of Meryl being awesome.
The Vampire Diaries - Bonnie Bennett
Bonnie spends a lot of time away from her friends, who only seek her out when they need her powers. She has to deal with everything on her own. She doesn't want people to get hurt, she can’t accept that covering up numerous murders is the norm, and this gets her painted as the bad guy. Um, no. In a supernatural land, she is the only person with reactions anything close to realistic and I find that absolutely fascinating. I would love a story which fills the gaps of her dealing with the death of her grandmother, with learning to use magic, with accepting that one of her best friends is a murderer and a vampire, with her powers starting to hurt her. Any story about Bonnie would make me happy. I don't particularly ship her with anyone, which is why I didn't specify another character, but I am by no means opposed to a little romance, so if you want to add that, please do!
FAME - Coco Hernandez
The last time we really see Coco, she is taking her top off for a sleazy photographer. I would love to see a continuation of her story. She is such a wonderful strong character with so much potential, and so much talent, the only one that does music, dance and drama and her future can really take her anywhere. I don't really mind where, whether or not she is successful, though I wouldn't want it to be overly tragic. She sings at graduation, which is some time after the incident with the photographer, so the missing story would also be great if you don't want to get into her after graduation life.
