Jeff and I saw District 9 today. I actually hadn't heard of it until he asked me if I wanted to see it and then made me watch the trailer. It's really not anything like the trailer makes it out to be. The Central Library has a PostSecret exhibit going on through the end of the month.
Bruce Campbell is going to be here for three days promoting his new movie which I have heard is fabulously cheesy and awesome. it's December 5-7 at the Lagoon.

last night after rehearsal I went to Target to get cat food and milk and ended up spending $55. but that's because I walked by DVDs and they had Hot Fuzz and the 300 special edition. This marks one of the very, very few times I've bought a DVD without seeing it first. but really, how could Hot Fuzz NOT be made of awesome?
I went with duchess_of_pie last night to see 300. I had already seen it, but.... IMAX! It's one of those movies that is absolutely perfect for that format

As of Sunday I have seen all of the nominations for Best Picture. The only one I want to win is Little Miss Sunshine as I was thoroughly underwhelmed by the others.
And with that, I can finally make my top 10 favourite movies of 2006 list. This year was obviously the year for comedies and sci fi.

Alfonso Cuarón was NOT nominated! BLOOD WILL RUN IN THE STREETS! I mean.... I will probably bitch as much as I did last year about the lack of nominations for The Constant Gardener.
